soo were rebuilding my engine and we are thinking of cleaning everything off (head, block etc...) with rubbing alcohol and towels that dont leave debris. Were mainly spraying the alcohol out of a airpressured canister and then wiping it down with the towels already moist with alcohol,to make sure there is no dust or dirt. bad idea?

 

one question tho' why not just hot tank the sucker?

it's gonna be faster and that's how we do it around the shop

 

That is what I was thinking.

 

Hot tank =more effective and provides the best result.

i missed the good old petrol based cleaner, they are hell lot more effective than the water **** we use now

too bad mother earth no likely petrol

 

yea the block has been hot tanked, but I was wondering if I could use alcohol to clean the cams, pistons, and some other misc. parts?
