I need help! (Theft Related)
For those members that have had their ITR's stolen entirely, or broken into/vandalized for ITR specific parts, I need your assistance.
The insurance investigator says he is having a hard time believing that people would break into the car, and steal so much stuff, but leave the radio/cd changer.
If any of you would like to help, please send me a IM with your contact info.
Thanks as allways.
Dion.

Easy way is to tell them to look under the partstrader; honda-tech classifieds; ebay and check under Integra Type R and note what parts are being sold.
Its so sad that what he "thinks" matters. They need to look at the "FACTS"
Request another investigator???? Is that possible, since this one shows absolutely no competence whatsoever??

Punk tell him to call some salvage yards and see what they are getting for these parts. Anything R is going to cost $$$$$$
Austin
And tell them that since they are so damn expensive at the dealerships(as they are now more than knowledgeable of) it is far easier to steal what they want, and it is not traceable...no serial numbers

when my baby was raped, the investigator investigated, he went as far as questioning my neighbors and hinting that it looked like an inside job, Fu%$^n ********. I found out only because a neighbor was talking to my GF and he mentioned what the investigator told him. Dude they will hassle you. Just tell them to investigate and look for R that were stolen he will find most of them were just stripped. When the adjustor came by my house he told me he had dealt with one the week before that was also stripped. Tell him to check records in california with Progressive insurance. or the police records.

If it's an aftermarket stereo, they can get it from anywhere, so why waste time... ITR parts are so much more valuable. Besides, stereos are cheap. The insurance investigator should get his head out of his ***.
I am getting the "hint" from them that they think it was a inside job as well...
Nice to know that with insurance companies, it's guilty, until proven innocent...

This whole deal has me so stressed out I haven't been able to sleep for days....
The dealer told me the front and rear seats all together were right around 7-8K.

My R was stolen, and I have to say it has been HELL!!!!
The insurance company shouldn't treat you like a thief, you pay them.
One of my friends car was broken into and all they took was the cd player, leaving his wallet, and all of his cd's.....So there you go, some thieves are selective. Maybe they had buyers for certain parts or were just taking what they needed for their hatchback....
I would call my insurance agent and tell them how you are being treated.
Oh...I didn't eat for 3 days after my car was stolen, and I puked a couple of times, it is a lot of stress, but the insurance company will make it right.

Guys what you have to remember is all about supply and demand. There are some of these Midnight Auto Supplies guys that are building look alikes etc and they have friends that appropriate the parts. They figure instead of paying a salvage yard big $$ to pay for **** they steal it instead. They stole a 00 teg in GSO and all they took was the hood and fenders. The guy replaced it along with all of his locks and a new alarm. Guess what!! They came and stole it again and took the rear bumper and tail lights. This time though police traced the parts to some backyard guy that was rebuilding a 99 teg the same color. Its not safe anywhere for cars that they really want.

dealer price per front seat is $2400. I am not sure about the rear seats, I know the cover is ~$350. So right there you already have $5150, that is still not counting the rear seat cushion. In my case the total was ~8K that was front seats, arme rest, valve cover, stereo (which the insurance only covered up to $1k) and then labor for repairing and replacing. When the stereo was taken the ******* cut the harness for the stereo So I had to deal with rewiring it. And it was cheaper for the insurance, because they were investigating they told the shop to not work on it, mean while I was paying for rental( since the insurance did not cover it) so I bought the driver seat myself and installed it. For about a month I drove with just the drivers seat. But I assembled and repaired everything myself so it cost the insurance less because they paid me less for the labor because (their thinking) I don't have any overhead like a repair shop does. So if I would have let the shop do it might have easily been another $500.
