Default wheel/tire/susp upgrades?

Im looking to to spend a grand, got the wheel and tire deal checked out but was wondering, and I have checked around and found some stuff around, eyeing the eiback prokit...anyways was wondering if anyone had suggestions on strut/coil replacements that would match or exceed OEM ride smootheness, and please dont tell me about your koni yellows, reds, jackson racing etc. Im looking for QUALITY.

That is the kit that I have on mine and can not say enough good things about it. This set rides and handles the way the car should have come from the factory. It is not to stiff but not too soft...It is a perfect balance of comfort and handling IMO. The drop is about 1.5" which is plenty for a daily driven car. This is for sure the one you want for a daily driven car, and from what I have been told the springs that come with this kit are actually made by eibach.

do not get coil over systems, everytime you adjust the height, you have to do the alignment otherwise it will *** up ur tires easily. i regreted of getting coilovers and going to move on to shocks and springs when i have the $

yep, the toe, camber angle would change eveything you adjust the height.

i swear by my coilover tho'

if you looking for more oversteer, run fatter tires in front and narrower in the rear.(225 front vs. 205 rear)
it might looks like an **** but it works

Hold on a sec . . . are you implying that Koni and Jackson Racing is NOT quality? I certainly hope not. Konis are typically better than anything else you'll find in your specific price range.

I'm assuming you want to lower the car; if that's the case, you'll have a hell of a time finding a system that will match or exceed OEM ride quality. Unless you want to crash down on the bumpstops, any lowering springs are going to be stiffer than stock. Good luck!

If you want to upgrade and have the enough money I'd suggest to get some Tein coilovers (either type Super Street or Flex).
But if you're a college kid like me you can get some KYBs w/ eibach springs (pro-kit or sport-kit you name it)

Refer to my post.....I found a set that does just that.

No, you found a kit that, in your own words, "rides the way the car should have come from the factory" and "not too stiff but not too soft". Both of those quotes imply that it is not like OEM and lead me to believe the ride is a bit stiffer than stock. At 1.5" lower than stock, I would hope it's stiffer, or you would hit the bumpstops in some situations. Am I saying the car rides like a racecar? Of course not. But I can guarantee that the springs in that kit are stiffer than stock, which will lead to a ride that is different than stock. Is it better than stock? I would probably think so. But that's not what the original post asks for. It asks for a ride that meets or exceeds OEM smoothness. Perhaps I'm interpreting "smoothness" incorrectly, but I take it to mean a smooth, supple ride. That just won't happen with stiffer springs.

Upgraded dampers only. . . now we can talk about increased smoothness.
