Hey all theres this 91 honda accord 2dr 5spd 143,000 miles mint.... .sitting at this shop my friend works at... gears 1, 3, and 5 dont work... I tried throwing the gears into place and it just doesnt stick and swings right back into neutral... gears 2, 4, R work fine however...its only a matter of time before i put it on a lift and take the trans out to see what it could be..but i was wondering if you guys can give me some advise as to....is it worth waiting for...if any of you auctually had this problem before how much $$ am i looking to spend??? etc......... please help thanks

I had the excact same problem with a 94 accord that wouldn't go 2nd, 4th or reverse. The first thing you could do is get the shift cable loose from both ends and slide it back and forth to see if it has a sticky place in it. The cables come as set and are pretty expensive...$150 comes to mind

 

sweet...i definitly will do... thank you very much...i thought it had like a metal shift linkage...i guess it also has cables?
