oil on spark plug threads?
i did a search but i didn't find enough to satisfy my curiosity. i was checking my spark plugs today and i noticed that after i removed the plugs the threads were covered in oil. the wires and the socket i used to remove them were clean, and so was the spark electrode of the plug (but i guess detonation would burn any oil that would have been there). i just though it was wierd that the spark plug threads were to only thing covered in oil. i will be replacing the O-rings tomorrow, but does anyone know why the oil is only on the threads?
The same thing happen to me when I was changing my spark plugs on my 98 prelude. Someone told me it could be worn internals or/and shot cylinder walls. Also Piston rings can we out too. Either way it's not good, check the problem out.
It's probably just your valve cover gasket like someone already said. I just did one on my girl's DSM who had the same issue, and it solved the problem.
