Finally HE is in HD.

 

They started with Flight of the Phoenix about 2-3 weeks ago. For those who are not Knight Rider freaks that is the 1st episode ever. Oh yeah, my Tivo is recording this daily.

 

Its funny..Knight rider was never recorded in high definition..well i wonder how they make it high def..well they convert it..you can do the same thing with a up convertor. I own dvd player that up converts everything to either 720p or 1080i, works well on my 54" sony.

 

I need a new TV... any hookups

Or, you re-encode it from film, if it was recorded on film. Take a look at the high definition Hogan's Heros, on HDNet.

Everything that uses interlace style film stock can be high definition (basically since the early 80's). You can purchase any movie or TV show in HD on a HD-VHS. The reason studios don't openly release these HD-VHS tapes is becasue they are easy to duplicate if you have an HD-VHS player/recorder. I have the first two Aliens on HD-VHS, its really sweet on the 68" DLP

FWIW progressive scan DVD's are 480p, I don't think you can convert a compressed 480p image to 720p or 1080i, but I may be wrong.

Knight Rider is great stuff . I always loved the "Turbo Boost" that forces Kit into the air even if there is no jump. I swore I'd put a turbo boost on my car someday
