How much is my car worth?
Hey, Im selling my honda to go to school, and I was wondering what you honda experts think I will get for my car. here are the specs:
Salvaged Title
1997 Honda Civic DX
OEM 99-00 Front end
Si Cluster
160,000 miles
5 Speed
Just replaced axels, brakes, and given a major tuneup
Used as a daily commuter, about 20 miles a day
Interior 9/10 - Just put it 2 brand new 6 1/2 in the front and and two 6x9 (both by panasonic)
Exterior is 8.6/10
Its pretty much stock with the exception of the front end and the cluster
What do you think I can get for it?

man for the last time this is Honda-TECH we are NOT appraisers.
But off the top of my head, given the front end is not OEM and the car is salvaged, 2-2500$ for the DX M/T of that year given the good condition. Sell it used, a dealer won't give ya anywhere near as much.

I know your not appraisers, but im just seeing, what you (all of H-t), guys who have experience w/ hondas think my cars worth. Im on craigslist all the time, and I see cars that are 3x's worst than mine selling for twice the price that you guys are saying mines worth, so im just asking
AND the front end is OEM, I bought it off someone who had put on a body kit w/ carbon fiber hood on his car.

2500 tops, unless its a person who dosent know jack about cars. with 160k miles, salvaged title, Front end will be looked at as stock, and people wont realize its a conversion, and its a stock DX motor, which arent worth much in the first place.
i understand you want an idea of its worth but thats all youll get is an idea here on HT......no one knows for sure cause there are a lot of variables. unless its heavly modded and you want a tuners opinion on the cost you should just look at comparable cars and what there selling for or go to http://WWW.KBB.COM and see what kelly blue book says. and another thing someone already said but ill reinforce is PRIVATE SALE gets you $$ trade ins expletive you over big time.
i'd give you no more than 2.2k tops. salvage title ***** up the resale vale. plus it has high miles, and has no ***** since it is a stock dx.. good luck with the sale though.
I don't know why people come on here asking what thier car is worth, it is much easier just to go on cars.com, or autotrader.com, and look at what other people are selling them for in your exact same model with around the same amount of miles of your car.

Its too bad your not on my side of the country... That thing could get you $4500+ easy if it doesn't have any major problems...
Salvage titles don't mean crap to people around here.. nearly every used car dealer is selling 90% rebuilt vehicles in this area.
