Motor Troubles
Ok so I'm having some serious trouble here guys I need some help. I'll set it up for you...
So one night I'm driving normal not getting on it or shifting hard, and all of a sudden I feel my car sputtering, so I push in the clutch and it just falls on its face and dies, all while I'm moving at 65 mph. So I baby it home and check the fluid levels coolant is fine, but oil is low as can be, takes 3 full quarts to get her full. I go to bed and check it again in the morning and the dipstick says its WAY overfilled. I drive it over to a friends house so we can get it apart and check it out, while I'm driving I start to hear a noise coming from the timing cover side of the motor. So far I've adjusted valve lash, checked belt tensioner, and pulleys...everything fine. I'm wondering if maybe the oil pump gear broke and is grinding up in there and not pumping any oil around the motor? Could the oil pump create a noise that sounds like metal hitting metal that goes faster with the motor's rpm? Another thought I had was maybe the timing belt jumped a tooth and smashed the intake valves? I really don't know what it could be so somebody please give me something here, I'm lost and I have to get my car up and running within the month. I'm begging here guys HELP ME OUT!
