Default Tighter bearings without machine shop work?

Currently on my crankshaft bearings, I'm getting about .0015-.0016 on all 5. I'm wondering if I tighten them down more if the gap will get tighter or if that will even help anything. I'd like to be around .0011 for all 5. (By the way, these are all brand new bearings, I'd be less than thrilled if I had to buy new ones)

Thanks!

You can't tighten them down anymore if you have torqued them to spec. Otherwise you'll break the bolt. You are worried about .0005 of an inch. Use a thicker oil.

You can always shave about .0005 off the mating surface off the cap mating surface That would be a very bad idea though

No, you can't shave the caps, then the bearing bores would be out of round. I think using thicker oil is probably his best bet if he's not willing to spend the money on new bearings.
