I dont know about acuras much yet, but when my mazda had the second gear grind i put in some gm syncromesh gear oil and now it shifts like brand new.

But where your car is new, take it to the dealer and bitch at them to fix it.

that's always the case, they are either numb nuts who can't feel anything or drive like 5 mph on a test drive

how fast are you shifting it? like are you powershifting/speed shifting it already?

I know I use to get a slight "scratch" when i shifted really fast in my 05 for the first 2000 miles, then it went away afterwards. Also did it in my friends brand new 03 Si when he first got it, it also went away after some miles.

i don't drive it hard, once in a while i gun it, but thats once in a while.....its almost always a grind unless i take it reallyyyy slow.

btw, i got like close to 7k miles on it, the grinding should have disapeared by now no?

The grinding is not just going to go away. If it is like the 02-04's then it is a syncro problem. Take it to the dealer and have them test drive it. If they can't replicate the problem, which they will probably say if they don't want to deal with the hassle of replacing syncros, then tell them you want to take a service rep for a ride otherwise you will file a complaint.

And there really isn't an easy fix. If it was out of warranty I would say throw in some new Redline MTF or GM Syncromesh but this should not be happening at 7k on an 06.

Take it in to the dealship and take advantage of that warranty before it runs out. But yeha this is a common problem among rsx, although I havn't heard of any recent horror stories with the 05+ rsxs.
