Help!!!
Ok so I recently bought a 97 JDM ITR this car has been sitting on the lot for 3 years!!! I wanted the oil to be changed before they started the motor, but it never happened i am worried that the oil may have turned acidic over time am I too late or will something like Marvel Mystery Oil help out?? The car has been driven to the shipping company in Fl and then off the container here... on top of that the ***** f**kers here took it apon themselves to take it for a spin (sons of bitches) and wrecked the rear end... so the car has been driven and it probably was driven pretty hard at the dock. How damaging is this? Rod bearings? what all parts will be affected by acidic oil?
Well, I dont believe oil turns acidic however I maybe wrong. On the other side, I wouldnt replace anything until it breaks. What I would do is sea foam the engine. After doing that (and yes, do all 3 steps), change out the oil to 10w30. Run it for a 1500-2000 miles, and change the weight if need be.
Sea Foam can be bought from a local parts store.

Keep in mind what is still under the hood!

Sure do have documentation, plus i was there when it went into the container in FL, and have photos... I also have witnesses to the fact that they were joyriding on the dock here in the Bahamas. Crowley is fully responsible.

Yeah, but if you lived on an island, you would know that ANY car you buy from the U.S. mainland, you're going to be stuck getting shipped to you by boat.
Oh wait, you DO live on an island...
Sorry to hear about it, hope you can get it fixed right (I assume the shipping company pays for the damage). EDIT - Yes, you just said that in the post above this one, while I was typing this in...

Sea Foam? Is this similar to motor flush? I cant say that i have ever seen it on the shelves down here.

You can say one of the steps can be called a flush.

Looks like it got raped
I'd ask for a new engine, bodywork and new paint. There is no excuse for letting employees "joy-ride". How does this differ from theft, aside that it was returned willingly?

Don't need a new engine the chassis maybe old but i only have 30k under the hood, but i will get the bodywork and lucky for me it needed a paint job regardless so I will get that at Crowley's expense. Raped is an understatement, and i am looking into pressing theft charges thanks to the surveilance cameras at the shipping yard.

I cant decide what I'd do first, beat them, or sue them? Tough choice.

You can look at the bright side and just imagine it when its repaired and the body is perfect with its new paint.

It's the whole fact that they took your car and drove it around without your permission... I'd be pissed to the max...
I already feel bad for the R to even have to go through that with dumbasses

What I'm thinking is that they should pay for the damages, buy the car from you and you get to keep it. Those *******. That is horrible.
I just picked my car up yesterday from shipping with Matson. Driver side door has scratches and the hood is scratched. The car was also really dirty from shipping and I couldn't tell until I got it home (which means I already signed for it so they are no longer responsible).
Fortunately the Hawaiian guys at the docks said 'Ho, bruddha..you got dem little racin' seats. We can no fit in dem, come get yah cah'.

OK STORY TIME....
So the car was purchased in Japan by a guy in the Dominican Republic, you may not know this but in the DR they can only drive left hand drive, so Honda converted it to LHD from RHD, When it came time to ship the car the buyer fell out which left the dealers with a very expensive car. When i first noticed the car about a year ago they were asking 14000 for it, after shipping to the bahamas plus 52% duty that price was way too much, then i came across it again just November and the price they were asking online was 7500 so naturally i jumped on it... called the dealers up and inquired about the car... come to find out the price was still at 14000 but in updating the website they must have switched photos around by mistake...what we have here now is false advertising and being the person that i am i had printouts of the car advertised at the lower price... after minor quarrels with the VP they agreed to let it go at the lower price...after all it had been on the lot for 3 years!!! So I have a fully JDM ITR with a honda factory LHD conversion done to it... not bad huh? En route to the Bahamas i kept the car in FL to get some internal work and ECU programming done. This baby is a beast trust me! Everyone has told me to get my money back but there is no way I am gonna let someone else own this car! We got EVO's and Skylines and Civics and Supras and many other imports but this is the only ITR on the island and most of the Turbos round here will have stress keeping up
All in all I am happy, of course it sucks what happened but in the end he who laughs last............
