Default t1r b pipe and mugen twinloop fitting

i know this topic has been covered at least a dozen times, but i couldn't find a definite answer, so:

will the mugen twinloop bolt on to a t1r b-pipe without modifications?

i found some posts giving a "no", but then again there're a lot of posts from ppl who're using this combo and they seemed to have had no difficulties at all. so i'm asking ONLY those who actually have this setup - where any modifications required? if so, what exactly was needed to be done?

yeah.. it has been covered few time by me and few others lol
answer to your question: NO
u DO need a simple modification to fit mugen TL to T1R b-pipe.

all i had to do.. is cut off the flange off mugen B-pipe. and welded that piece on to T1R b-pipe.

and it's done

muffler shop can do it pretty easy

itr1244, after reading over your thread, I was wondering how well of a fit was the Mugen flange inside the T1R b-pipe?

the fit was near perfect..
mugen TL has 2.5 " at the flange so as the T1R

but the actual flange on T1R was smaller but the piping is still 2.5" so they will fit great. it's just like welding 2 of 2.5" pipes together..

my T1R flange was smaller.. cuz it was one of the first version.. it had bottle neck

Do you think the little piece of the Mugen flange that slipped inside T1R b-pipe is causing any exhaust flow disturbances? It looks like the pics aren't working anymore so I don't recall how much of the flange is actually slipped in the b-pipe.

um as far as i remember.. nothing slides over nothing.

they are the exact same size.. so i just welded right on.. no slip overs

I just took off my T1R bpipe which was mated to Mugen TL. Here's some pics.

As you can see the T1R bpipe had to be modified w/ the corresponding piece from the original Mugen bpipe.

The top pipe is the one modified.

Hope this helps.

lol i cant believe people are as stupid as i am lol

why? it's expensive as hell.. think about it.
full mugen TL exh..= 1000?
T1R b-pipe 300?
1300? wow

the only reason i have myset up like this is... i had spoon N1 and T1R b pipe.. and i sold my spoon n1.. so i was left with T1R b pipe.
later.. i bought a used mugen TL off my friend.. and i figured the mugen had smaller b-pipe compared to T1R. so i might as well put a good use to my T1R ..
so that's how my T1R b-pipe and mugen TL mated.

what about you guys? did you guys destory the resonator? lol
i know alot of people dent that part..

Yeah, I hear you. I bought my car used, and it had the Mugen TL on it. The resonator was banged up and as y'all know, the piping before the resonator is 2". So, I bought a T1R bpipe and modified it to fit.

My car is almost dedicated for the track, so I'm looking for a lightweight exhaust that won't get me flagged at Laguna Seca for sound level violations. Got a suggestion?

I obtained a stock exhaust system from NewR, a former owner, who was extremely generous and gave me the stock manifold to muffler, minus the cat. After putting on the stock exhaust, I can definately feel the power difference. I test drove my car w/ the stock exhaust at night, read colder, w/ almost no gas, and it didn't pull as hard as during a summer day w/ almost a full tank of gas. I had a JDM Honda 4in1 header, 2.5" POS cat, the 2.5" T1R bpipe and Mugen TL exhaust. I had to experience it to believe it.

So, I would say this mod is definately worth it if someone desires to travel this path. But as you mention, it's not very wise financially.
