Default Honda Hoods

I really didnt want to put this as a new topic, so i tried to search for my old hood question and just post this question in there, but i couldnt find it .

I know how much a new oem hood is which i belive run from 70-100 alteast thast what i have seen, but with shipping its more costly..

so i found a pick and pull part place and i havent went to it yet to see if they even have honda accords there.. but anyone happen to know if the hoods there would cost just as much or way less sense its all used and mabey messed up but still look good?

if you can find an actual oem (HONDA) hood for $70-100, i'd go with that...you aren't going to find it any cheaper at a junk yard...i'd guess a junkyard would want at least 200 for a hood if it was in good shape...but i'm assuming the hood you are referring to is an oem style but actually made by the aftermarket...i've never heard of honda selling a body panel for under $100....

How do you feel about CAPA certified body panels? Especially P_Adams, would you use them? I was thinking about it, just for the bumper and passenger fender.

Personally, with body panels i'd just stick with OEM...fitment is always better. It's generally a crapshoot wiht non OEM parts...some are good and some are bad.

Sheet metal should be ok (inspect for shipping or storage rash if you can before purchasing.
Urethane Bumper Covers are another story altogether. In a nut shell: CAPA is CRAPPA. Liberty Mutual tried the old "Like, Kind & Quality" gambit on me two years ago when the red CD7 got rear-ended and they threw an aftermarket b'cover on the car.
Within a week, it had started sagging and actually shrunk away from the rear lamps and drooped beneath the trunk lid seam.
I made such a stink, that a week later was installed an OEM Honda rear bumper cover - like a glove

thanks for the prices P_Adams.. The ones u posted that were around 80 or so, those are the ones i was talking about and acually the exact site i was refering to , to be around 70 bucks or more..I undersand what OEM is, but i just cant see myself paying over 150-200 bucks for a used, kinda messed up hood.

however i wasnt planning on getting one from a site, b.c i do not feel like payinshipping specially if i just have to drive 10 mins to get the hood....its just a hood off another american honda accord that i found at a pick a part place, so i was thinking of just taking the hood off and putting it on my 97 se which is also american, so im guessing it should fit just fine either it be cpa cert. or not

thanks for the help

if anyone knows a price they got for diffrent stuff that they got at a pick n pull type place, then please share, i want to get diffrent ideas how much the hood would be.

No, sorry.
You need a hood from these model years
1994 thru 1995 ("H" Emblem on Hood)
1996 thru 1997 ("H" Emblem on Front Grille)

They will all fit, for those years.

Truddle back to the "Pick & Pull' (sounds like a Red-Neck booger retrival clinic) and ask them if they can put your request on their locator system. (It's like an Internet for Sakvage Yards). Heck, they may come back with one in your color; and you wouldn't have to paint it!
