at work today i got to drive a 93 Accord Lx 5MT to the wholesale car auction. and let me tell you guys that car was impressive. it have 157K but felt brand new. maybe im out of my mind but this car felt faster than my 97 2.2CL 5MT it might sound impossible but idk.
You're looking at a car that has the same displacement engine (2.2L) but is markedly lighter.
For example:
Curb Weight (C/W)
1990-1993 Accord Sedan/Coupe 2733 lbs (1244Kg) 130hp
1990-1993 Accord Wagon 3139 lbs (1426Kg) 130hp
1994-1997 Accord Sedan/Coupe 2915 lbs (1325Kg) 3750 GVW 135hp
200 pounds less with the same HP? Yup, it's quicker It's like asking fat Louis to sit this one out.

I had a 92 EX auto. My brother had a Pontiac Bonneville (350 V8) at the time. He would constantly say why did you get a car with a 4cyl.? That thing has no power. No way I would ever buy a car with a sewing machine for an engine. I would just tell him, this is not an american 4cyl. it goes pretty good. Finally I got tired of hearing it, and told him to take the Bonneville out on the street and settle it once and for all. So we go out to a deserted road, line up side by side, and go. It wasn't even close. I left him like he was standing still ( it shocked me, I thought I would lose, but not by as much as he claimed). Then he still wasn't satisfied, and wanted to go from a rolling start at 55mph. Whatever, I said. Dusted him again. Then he tells me My engine isn't running right. So I told him that whenever he gets it to run right, to let me know. Needless to say, I haven't heard anymore about it.

EDIT:
Actually, the 94-97 accords weigh 2855 lb's and the wagons are right over 3000...that puts the 4g's about 120ish pounds lighter than the 5g's...a difference yes, but not a 1000 pound difference...

Well, then I've an issue with The State of Rhode Island DMV. They're reporting 3759 GVW. (on two cars in my driveway.
I stand corrected http://www.carpartswholesale.c...CCORD reports 2855 curb weight
Something I'll have to take up with the state (unless we're speaking apples/oranges (Curb 2855 as opposed to Gross 3759) ??? I guess I'm getting too tired.
'96-'97 specs:
http://www.internetautoguide.c...ccord/
reports 1776Kg's (3907.2lbs) Gross weight & 1325Kg's (2915.0lbs) Curb weight.

Curb weight includes all fluids, full gas tank; but NO driver, passenger, or luggage.
Gross weight is how heavy it's allowed to get when full of people & luggage.
