Replacement low beam bulb for 2001 Accord V6?
I went to an auto store and got a Sylvania replacement bulb for my passenger low beam halogen. I went to put it in and the thing doesn't fit. The circular base just below the bulb is slightly too big. I thought maybe it was just supposed to be snug but I tried and tried and cannot get this thing to go in.
Next I tried to just see if I could plug it into the rubber housing socket to make sure it would come on. It won't fit in there either. The inside of the socket has a groove for a single lip to go in. The problem is, the bulb I have has two lips instead of one. I can see absolutely no way this bulb would fit in the socket (I tried two different bulbs).
Has anyone had this problem before? The bulb I replaced was a Stanley bulb but I can't find a store that sells anything other than Sylvania. I hate to take my car to the dealer just to replace a headlight bulb. Thanks for any help.

Positive I got a 9006. Although now that I think about it it's entirely possible I took out the high beam bulb and was trying to put the new bulb into that slot. That would probably explain it, especially since the bulb I took out looked okay and the filament was intact.

Yea the difference between the 9005 and 9006 is one tab thats INSIDE the socket, which prevents you from using them interchangably (unless you carve it out like I did to get more light in low beam). You cant even notice it on the outside of the bulb.
