New to civic hatch. Have a few upgrade questions.
Wuts up guys,
I just got my 95 cx that ahs CAI and 2 1/4 ctback exhaust and coilovers. I need to get a new set of rims and tires for it. Has steelies and crap tires right now. Can you guys recomend a good set of wheels and tires for a max of 600 combined. Only stipulation is that it i would like the ginmetal grey color for them.
Then, this summer i am going to do a swap to it(has a single slammer rite now
) I should be able to put up around 5-6k for the swap. I have researched and brought it down to 2 engines. Either the JDM H22 swap or the JDM K20A Swap. What are the pros and cons of both compared to eachother. They have equivelant ratings according to the swaps sticky on top but which would you guys reccomend and why. By next year i want to run a low 12 with this car but still b semi streetable. Which engine can help me achive that goal. Which is good for Nitrous. Which is good for turbo. How much work would need to be done to each to use turbo.
Sorry if i dragged on a bit but im just looking for some help making this car fun. Please help w/ whatever you know. Thanks

max of 600..... i cant really think of any for that cheap. I'd either look at Civic Si wheels, you can usually get them for pretty cheap, otherwise go to http://www.wheelmax.com and they have a pretty wide assortment of off brand wheels for pretty cheap.
hope that helps

for rims get some konig or rotas. JLB motorsports has a great deal od 660 shipped with tires if you can afford a little more for brand new rims and tires.
As for an engine. If you are serious DEFINATELY go with the K.

thnx for the replies. Can you give me a link to the 660 deal. I ahve a few grand so a little over wont hurt. Just tryin not 2 blow it all and i am VERY serious bout the swap. What kind of 1/4 mile times shud i expect from the k20 stock w/ cai and 2 1/4 inch catback?
Heres the links.
Konig Link

(This is the link with the deal I was talking about. It has 15" konig heliums with Falken Ziex mounted and balanced for $660 shipped. If your close to him you can pick them up for $550)
Rota Link

He is by far the cheapest and you can get any tire you want if you wanna upgrade. Highly recomended.
As far as a k20 with basic mods i would have to say high 13's depending on mods and how much weight reduction.

i think you should do some more research on the k20 swap, from what i've read its around 8-9k's for the swap.

but 5-6k's should be more than enough for the h22 swap or a b18c5

as for what swap to get.... go here and read up. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=878010
you know what you want, and what you are wanting out of it. so the decision is up to you. if this is your first swap, i'd say a b series motor. fairly easy swap and a lot of info from them right here on this site. plus it will be hella cheaper than a k series and a bit cheaper than a h series, and you can put a little more money into mods and such.

If you're going K-series I'd go 16s just so you have a bit of a better chance at traction. pb16b over at JDMC and clubek.net has a K20 in an EK and he's posted a best of around 12.8 in the 1/4 mile.
