Default CX swap help

hey, I just got a 93 CX hatch last weekend and I'm planning a motor swap this summer. My only problem is that I have no idea what the best set up might be. I'm not looking to do a ton, no turbo, small shot of nitrous, on nitrous and slicks(or drag radials) I'd just like to hit 13's. Being in a small hatch this doesn't seem that hard. Here's what I'm thinking about doing:
B16 swap out of a USDM Si.
This is my first choice. Are there any problems with this swap? Direct bolt up or do I need new mounts? Is the OBD the same? It seems this is one of the main concerns with swaps. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

And yes I did do a search, couldn't find much. I might have been searching wrong though. Also, if you have a set up in your hatch let me hear about it. I'd love to get real world ideas and estimations on how to hit 13's.

Thanks for helping the new guy

Chris

Your better off with a b-18c1 or even a b-18 c5 from a type r. You wont hit 13's with just a motor swap. You will need to mod the motor a bit. You should be in the high to mid 14's with a gsr motor and a set of sticky tires. Good luck.

New Si is OBD-II, so you would have to get some jumpers to run the OBD2 ECU or run a P30 ECU.

You won't hit 13's with just a motor swap, eh? That's the kind of bullshit answer you get when n3wbs with one post answer other n3wbs with one post.

If you're looking for simplicity, drop that b16 in there, plug a 55 shot into it, get a nice I/H/E going on and you'll hit high 13's without much effort, especially with slicks/DRs.

If you're more technically and mechanically inclined, drop an H22 between the rails and you're in the 13's with slicks and an intake (if you can launch).

B18C5 is a great engine, if you've got 5500 bucks lying around to throw away. You'll probably be hitting high 13's with I/H/E on street tires if you do a lil weight reduction.

Your average B18C1 hatch with I/H/E, no weight reduction, street tires, average driver, average launch will run 14.5. Get some slicks and you can drop, once you learn to use em, half a second. If you throw an intake manifold on there and get your car tuned, you'd definately be in the 13's.

Good luck. Ask lots of questions, but search more.

I own a 94 CX hatch with a 1st gen b16a and a gsr tranny and did a 14 flat on a 13 stock tires on the front. All I have was a headers (DC 4-1), test pipe, intake, stock clutch, rigged exhaust, FULL INTERIOR and patches of bondo on the body. I took the reinforce metal on the front and rear bumper. 1st gen b16a, the engine you'll be using (10hp more) should hit on a high 13 if you can drive.

This is exactly the type of info I was looking for. Thanks for the help. Now, next question......what B16 should I do? If the OBD is different between my hatch and the Si motor, what B16 should I get? One out of an Si hatch? Or is it not a big deal to change the OBD? This will be my daily driver so I don't need to have anything that has the potential to screw up to where I have to spend who knows how many hours trying to figure out what's wrong. If changing the OBD is that hard I'd prefer not to do it and swap a different motor. Any suggestions?
