am i wrong?
The other day some guy comes up to me and starts talking to me. Then he starts saying how his friend used to have a it-R that put down 300 whp Na. I tried to correct him and tell him that it wasnt possible, and this guy flipped out. Then he said his friend did it on a stock bottom end too. He showed me a magazine with a Rsx putting down 290+ whp, but i called bullshit on that too just becuase there was no dyno, and magazines are always trying to sell ****.
If a inline 6 m3 puts down 270-280 whp, and a 300c hemi engine puts down around 300whp, how did this guy think that a Four cylinder all motor car can do this.
Has anyone ever seen an itr put down 300whp NA? let alone on a stock block

I remember seeing some vid that hytech had made a K motor with close to 300whp, revving to silly mad crazy RPM.
Dont know of anyone close to 300 on NA C5 motor...if they did, it would have been all over this board.

a V6 M3, huh?? thought M3's were inline 6's... oh well
I'm sure there's been a 2.x liter b-series with ginormous cams, 13:1 c/r, perfectly balanced, spun to 11,500 rpms that would make 3xx on a dynapack, but as far as a stock ITR bottom end, the most i've personally seen was one i tuned on a dynojet and it made 196. I'm sure there has been plenty more than that, too.
i would almost call it IMPOSSIBLE. there, i said it. i don't think that an 81mm bore, 87.4mm stroke 10.6:1 c/r engine can produce 300 all motor wheel horsepower. no matter what is done to the head. as long as no air is forced in.

it has been done with b-series motors. i believe the skunk2 car (i could be wrong) made about 310 whp. also, K motors have been further then that already.

Granted not on a stock bottom end, BUT I think if you had enough money to blow and you were trying just to hit 300 WHP for bragging rights. I'm sure it COULD be done. For what money, I don't know but I've seen crazier things. But if you stroked and bored the crap out of it, ran 14.1-1 CR and about 110 octane, BC-IV cams, all forged internals. If you had a super tuner like AEM EMS maybe Hondata. It would be close, but I think it COULD be done but not reliable.
