Kinda OT: Car Shipping Across Country
Hey guys, my dad is gonna be picking up a car all the way out in Redondo Beach California and we need to find the best company to drive it to Florida. I saw Lens post in 2002 and checked out http://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/BuySell/shipping.htm and also http://www.dasautoshippers.com but i know theres gotta be more and they want the lowest i can find around $850. So anyone gimme some advice for my pops and i'd appreciate it
I used das to ship to east coast from the west coast, car got here in less than 4 days. Good people at DAS answered every question I had, I'd recommend them to anyone.
Quite a few years ago I used another company to ship a car from the same area (socal) to the EC and it took almost a month and a half to get here, while they were a few hundred cheaper, I had nothing but problems with them and their customer service. Plus the car showed up with the bumper falling off, and it wasn't the fault of the guy i got the car from either
. So you get what you pay for as always.

I had my Integra shipped from Hollywood Florida to Yonkers NY (right on my street) for $550, they were great since it was shipped in a enclose container even though I didn't request it and were really nice people because my payment took a little bit to clear at the dealer so they couldn't release the car but EZHauling waited for a day, took em 3 days to get here but very nice people. They also called me often updating me http://ezhauling.com/
Good Luck!

I used AM/PM trucking when I had my R shipped from wisconsin to here. It cost me $900 to do it. $850 from cali isn't bad IMO. Or you and the old man could bond and fly out together and drive it back.

DAS shipped my car from east coast to west... minimal problems, which they were prompt about resolving.

Found that AM/PM info for ya.
AM/PM Car Carrier, Inc.
Chicago, IL 60620
773-488-4316
I can't remember if dudes name was Tony or not but they took car of me.
I found that if you go directly to the carrier, you can get cheaper rates. A broker is typically going to charge 200-250 on top of what the actual trucker wants.

It took a bit longer for me, because my car had to cross the Canada/US border. Once it got to detroit though, it wasn't that long. (sorry to be ambiguous, I forget the exact length of time, but it wasn't a month or anything like that)

Back from the dead. Has anyone recently shipped a car cross country? I'm checking out the companies listed in this thread but there are any other recommendations I'm open to any reviews. Thanks.
DAS is your best way to go. They may not be the fastest but for the service they provide, they are the cheapest! Since this thread was made in 2006, fuel prices have changed so the cost is higher (obviously).
I used to transport cars myself and would recommend DAS all day.
