Not to plug another board (I dont even post there) but I do not see much info on here about turbo RSX-S so I would suggest checking out CRSX F/I forums. There are many people there boosting their Type-S along with some good info.

hahaha who lied to you? Guys are running around on stock motors pushing 500whp daily driven......I've had two dc5's, both turbo charge and never had problem with them at all, esp. motor wise.

I'll be up and running this spring:

SCI turbo kit w T3/T04r
Precision 1000cc injectors w/ resistor box
K-Pro
Walbro Fuel Pump/ Aeromotive A1000 FPR w/ Return Line
Golden Eagle Sleeves
Manley Rods (Selling my Eagles now)
Wiseco 9:1 Pistons
ARP Headstuds/OEM Headgasket/OEM Bearings
Micropolished and Balanced Crank
ACT 6 puck clutch w/ Extreme Pressure Plate (Until I can afford a Tilton)
Greddy Profec Boost Controller

Aiming for 550+ or whatever the clutch holds till

Also, there is somebody over at CRSX that is making 560 hp on a completely stock A2. I think they hold boost pretty good stock. A lot of people are making 300 hp on CN kits and have been for years. The sleeves and rods are pretty tough stock. Most failures are the stock ring lands.

sorry to jack thread but... i have seen that kind of intercooler setup once before. how does that setup work exactly? i sort of cannot see how air can effectively pass through the intercooler. then again... just past midnight here and i cant think properly

Dont worry, I think this thread was jacked a while ago. lol

I also have the same question as you. How exactly does this work? I mean some Subaru's have top mounts but they also have large hood scoops to get the air to the intercooler? Will such a hood be needed for this setup?

No, but it wouldn't hurt anything. The RSX has an advantage, the area behind the strut towers is completly open to the outside of the vehicle. Short answer, air enters front, passes over and is drawn through the IC, and then proceeds out through the low pressure area were Honda placed the steering rack for the world to see. The IC isn't located as high as people probably think it is, it sits well below the hood, which allows air flow over and through.

Looking at the Top Fuel setup similar to this, they do not have any scoops aside form the one in the front grill. Figure what works for them right. No just kidding, this is a street application, though we are sure that the air flow will be sufficient enough to pull air through he cooler, it will have to sit in traffic, like every other street car, so we are looking into some other ways to possible increase air flow over the IC. I am thinking of putting a 8inch puller fan on the bottom of the IC just for some extra flow.

As for a hood bumper combo for max flow, I was think along these lines.

theres plenty of empty room under the hood once you move the battery to the back and remove the stock intake box and all the components..... pretty much the same way a cold air would work.... ill take pics so you can see where the air flows from but i am also mounting a thin 8 inch fan on the underside of the IC for a lil extra "umph" i dont know if youve seen Top Fuel of Japans setup but its pretty much the same , no special hood, no special ducts and it made 473 whp and some change and the shortage of piping should have me at full boost yb around 3800, ill keep yall posted and let ya know how it all goes and what the numbers are

HAHA LELAND YOUR THE ****, THANKS FOR THE EXTRA PICS!!!
