single core vs. dual core for stock setup
Hey there,
I was able to get a great deal on a 1988 Civic DX hatchback. However, I started playing around with a hole in the radiator, and pretty much its ruined now. I'm useing this car strictly as a commute car, seeing that I have a 92 cx turbo gsr as the fast car in my garage, however the issue of the radiator is still unresoved.
Should i get a single core radiator, or a dual core? Is there benfits to paying the premium price for the dual core to cool a SOHC which doesn't really need it? Or are they pretty much the same thing.... And if for some reason in the future i get an itch to throw something bigger in it.... will the single core be adequate to cool a B series? Thanks....

The stock radiator in my 91 crx si is more than enough to cool my R motor on the hottest track days. It will idle forever too, and the single oem fan hardly ever runs.
before my crx w/ gsr was stolen i ran a fluidyne w/ waqter wetter and a mugen thermostat, and i didn't have to use a fan and i run like 10 times and it would never get hot , just my input stock should be fine for ur setup

No. The stock radiator is more than enough.
