Custom 3inch exhaust for turbo application... 16g or 18g

Default Custom 3inch exhaust for turbo application... 16g or 18g

While I would like to save weight... I dont want something that wont last and crack easily

so, should i go 16g or save the weight and use 18g?

any feedback is greatly appreciated

18 ga stainless is what most use. You could probably use 20 ga if you could find it, as long as it is properly supported and the welding is good.

To me it would really depend on the quality of fabrication. If i know the fabricator is going to do the job correctly and use the proper supports on the exhaust i would recommend 20g over 18g it also starts to become more expensive the thinner you go.
