Default Throw out bearing going bad?

My car has 41200 miles on it. Its a 2002. When the car is running and in neutral with the clutch released there is a whining noise in the transmission. Once I push in the clutch the noise stops. Now I had the car at the stealership and they said it was due to the fact of the type of clutch Honda uses. They told me in order for the noise to stop I would have to put in an aftermarket clutch. I know this is bullshit because every Honda I get in does the same thing. I've heard rumors of the Input shaft bearings or a bad throw out bearing.

Does anyone have this similar problem and a known fix?

if it was the throw out bearing it would make noise when you pressed the pedal down.......

when the car is in neutral and you let the clutch out the throw out bearing is not spinning so it cant make noise

however when the clutch pedal is not being pressed the transmission will be spinning and if there is a bad bearing it will make noise...when you press the pedal down the throw out bearing will pres up against the pressure plate and release the clutch seperating the engine from transmission and the ttranny wil stop spinning

noise goes away......

those cars have alot of transmission noise problems ..it may also be the clutch disc....

02 shouldnt have the clutch buzz problem. It was common in the previous years. 02 went to a new clutch disk. Just swap it out, stock clutch sucks anyway.

Yeah its making like a whine noise but when I push the clutch in it stops. Think its might be the input shaft bearing? I know this is a common problem with honda trannys. Like I said its annoying as hell.

get a loud exhaust and you won't hear it

you still have a warranty? if so, take it to Acura and let it be there problem. if not your best bet is to go comptech flywheel, act pp and oem disc...

I think my clutch is just wearing down gradually. It dont slip, but it releases really really late.

so much are reusing that flywheel.. you cant resurface those junk piles!! thats why we use comptech.. and the toda one is wayyyyyyy to light. you are cutting too much weight from the rotating assembly.

TB is bad.. happens all the time

my integra did that and my uncle said it was the throw out bearing. we put in a new one and it still whined. he was pissed and searched the engine bay and he found a damn vacuum line with a kink in it that was making the noise. weird.

so you have an ACT clutch disk?

if so, that might be why...you need to use the OEM disk. ACT disk is just a copy of the OEM...
