I sell them. Im not a huge fan of em, I think they look cheap. the D2 is coming out in about a month or so, as is the Z1 (which is also a double din but witha 30 gb harddrive and muuuuuch better cosmetics and it plays dvd movies).
posistives of the D1:
1. inexpensive retails for $1500
2. excellent/most up to date nav program
3. very user friendly
4. I-pod and Mp3 interface is great
5. pioneer nav traffic compatible (up to the min traffic updates which automatically rerouts u around accidents n such)
6. comes with cage mount
Negatives:
1. looks like pioneer cut corners cosmetically to get the price so low
2. does not play DVD movies
3. very low preamp outputs 1.9V

The Z1 would be my choice it retails for $2200 but I think its worth it.
Or look into Eclipse AVN 5435 and 5495
the 35 is $1699 retail has 5.2V preamps and plays movies
and the 95 is $2399 retail anp has a 30gb harddrive built into it for storing music. If u put a CD in it, it copies it to the harddrive so u never have to put the cd in again.
