starter problems b16 ef
what all would happen when the solenoid goes bad on the starter???? mine makes my battery arck, or sometimes itll make it run constant power i think my starter is the cause of all the problems lemme know please tahnks
yea i beleive so or somethin clicks, but then when i try it again it does nothing. so i duno what the problem is im gettin a new starter anyways i was jus trying to see what all happens when the solenoid goes bad.
Check all your grounds 1st. Otherwise try having someone turn the key to try and start it. While your doing that hit the solenoid with a big stick or something and keep hitting it. If it starts you have a bad solenoid, but this works sometimes. Otherwise you can take it to autozone and have it tested for free to see if it's still good.
when the solenoid goes bad usually youll hear it click once if at all and thats it... thats actually the little gear being pushed out and spun to crank the flywheel.., solenoid goes bad = no crank

A little rough and old school but DAMN it works like a champ! My advice exactly and yes I have seen a bad starter cause you problems. I actually used a started from autozone once and when we started it up the damn starter just keep going and burned up (another replacement went on w/o problems) so I have seen some wierd stuff.
