so whos used aircraft remover when polishing their wheels?
ive got some flat black slips and want to polish them. i was reading that if u just remove all the paint with aircraft remover they look like they are polished. would u still need to sand them and polish them after you used the aircraft remover? and another question... can you clear coat your wheels after you polish them so they last longer?
thanks a lot

Aircraft Paint Remover should work on removing the paint. but dont burn yourself. I think you may have to do some sanding/polishing after if you want the bling factor.

i used it on my mugens with some steel wool (2 grit) and it came off without any problems

Aircraft Remover, or Jasco Paint remover (aresol can)
after spraying it on the wheels let it sit for about 30min to give it enough time to eat through all the paint (this will save u time of using the steel wool to remove wuts left over)
after u clean all the paint off, sand with 600 grit and move up to 1000 or 1500 grit
to get the "bling" factor, use Mother's Mag Wheel Polish, rub it on with a towel (if its turning black, then its working)
be prepared to put in a full days work to do all 4 wheels

I used some stuff on my valve cover.. It was goopy. Took 3 layers of stock/my paint off in about 5min. Then used some stripping pads on it after it bubbled.
Took it right down to bare alum.. looks oldschool now
