Removing main seal
Hi there,
I'm having trouble removing my main seal.
I seached and saw that using a screwdriver to pry it out will probably nick the crank and cause me big headaches...someone recomended using a small nail to make a hole in the metal section, then using that to pry it out.
I'm a bit apprehensive about doing this, I've tried using the corner of a razor blade to dig into it and pop it out, but it seems to be made with two parts, the inner part is rubber, the outer metal. Obviously the razor blade won't dig into metal, and the rubber part just flexes.
Any help?
EDIT:

Thanks in advance.

Im pretty sure you will. Heres a few pics cuz my block is still layin in pieces in the living room. Notice the 2 built in studs coming off the seal housing. Im sure the pan screws on to them

I changed my main seal before. Yes you have to take off your oil pan, and loseing those 10mm bolts. then pull it out. and when you're taking out the main seal, try using your thumb and push it out and putting the new one in is the same thing just slowly push it in and tape it in with a rubber mallet so you dont damage anything.
