AEM CAI works great on my 04 4cyl.

Make sure you get a bypass valve to prevent hydrolocking. You can find them off ebay for probably 190 on the intake and another 60 for the bypass w/shipping.

Well AEM is one of the larger sport compact companies (including DC Sports) not just for intake's but pulley kits, exhaust systems, etc etc.

I think many of the people in this forum have AEM intakes, and if not, it's because they have a custom one.

if you searched what you will see is "an intake is an intake" and well its true. the only thing that really matters is the filter. but a higher flowing filter dose put more dirt into the engine. i really dont think it is enough to make a difference. but i could be wrong. the reason i got an AEM intake is because its carb legal and if i ever get pulled over and they want to look under the hood everything is legal. so that was a big plus for me. the directions were'nt so great but with the help of HT and a digi cam i got it done. i think im getting a little better gas milage(more air flow more power less gas used). hope that helps.

They know their stuff alright. They are sucking big money off guys like you who believe their claims of big power gains (actually very small gain). Not worth it. Oh, and isn't it time to "wash and oil" your air filter? Hahaha.

here is what im doing myself (or tomorrow if it stops raining)

1. buy K&N cone filter on ebay for 30 bucks.

2. buy piece of 3 inch exhuast piping.

3. cut piping to size and put it in stock air hose.

4. put cone on other end of exhuast piping.

5. tighten clamps

and thats you DIY air intake. works just as good as the 200000000 dollar name brands

the thing you have to realize is the design, development and quality do cost money. do you think the no name brand company even have a dyno? or they even care what come out of the machine. I did not buy an intake because i think i have a big gain just for your info, i got the aem after i took off the turbo. i got it for 80 bucks shipped to my door. how much is an average pos intake cost on ebay? 30-40 shipped? well when i sell my aem now i am gonna at least sell it for 80 buck, so how much it cost for me to own an aem intake again? good luck selling knock off if anyone want to pay for shipping.

the question of what's worth it or not it's not a factual claim, you might think it's overpriced but that just you. if you live by a knock off brand then i am not going to say you are low life or cheap, it's a matter of personal opinion.

I use the Honda brand (stock). They know what is right for the engine. Less air restriction = less dirt restriction. You can have the 1 to 2 hp gain, I'll opt for a cleaner engine. And it costs less than any brand of CAI, $0.00.
