Question on custom wiring harness.
im going to be making a custom harness for my car because im shaving and tuck the harness but anyway i have a few questions on the harness its self and aftermarket plugs.
on my stock harness theres 3 canon plugs on the passenger side which are obviously sensors but on the driver side there are 3 also. the one has 2 pins with thicker gauge wire which i think are power wires for something, then there is a plug that is capped, and another one that has mainly yellow with a black striped wires. are these grounds? what are the 2 thicker wires for? why is the one plug capped?
im going to get my plugs from http://www.alliedelec.com im gonna use the CPC threaded connectors. i know i need a pin and socket to make connections but does any pin and any socket fit any connector that accepts that style contact? Does it matter what kind of contact it is? (i.e. brass, tin-plated brass etc..) Does gauge of the wire affect which contact i should get?
Any help would be appreciated

Yes, the other two wires are for the distributor wiring.
And the yellow/black junction connectors are actually a 12V power, not ground. That is the way obd1 is setup, on an obd2 harness, the black/yellow are the ground.
The junction connector holds the power for the 4 injectors, and all the other sensors like IAT,IACV,Purge..all them other sensors.

the "junction" of all those yellow/black wires is nothing more then a "distribution block" for the ignition switched 12v+... u can go by the rule of thumb that when you come across that wire in the engine bay is has a constant 12v+ whenever the key is in the ignition position
cpc connectors i use at work all the time, they are junk if you ask me, for use in an automotive enviroment you need a waterproof connection, they will cost more but it is worth it. I have only used the black plastic ones.
