Default How to remove side rear triangle glass window molding/trim??

I ordered new trim for both sides because mine are faded and crumbling. But I don't know how to get them out. I assume they are just clipped in, but it also looks like there is a lip behind the glass. BTW, I'm talking about the large side quarter windows (the trim around them). Hope that makes sense, thanks!

rear quarter glass is glued in... go to a glass shop, but there usually isnt a garuntee that they wont break the glass in the process...if your talking about the glass that you can see from the side of the car

if your talking about the pieces that you can see from that back, that are plastic those clip in, and ive never taken them out, but it looked like they would break when they came out

All I want to do is remove the trim. Do I still have to take out the glass?

to properly remove those trim pieces the glass should really come out. there are 2 trim pieces - 1 innner and 1 outer. the outer 1 uses a clip at the smallest curve of the glass, and that sits behind the glass, so the glass should come out. There is also a good bit of glue in the curve.

I wanted to get the glass taken out and have a glass guy do this all, but it got painted without it done, so my brother and I had to do it without removing the glass. We got the gaskets out and had to chisel out the old glue so it would sit right. Then we had to cut the clip out of the new trim piece, so it would sit properly.

we didn't use any glue to install either, it's a very tight fit, and i've driven around with em and I haven't had any problems.

Hope that helps

I am doing a similar project on my project crx. The problem for me right now is just finding the trim that goes around the exterior of the rear quarter glass. My rubber trim peaces are old and cracked chipped away ect, also missing one totally. I was told tthe trim is part of the window and it was available only by eather buying or sorceing a new window. Where did you find yours? I have now obtained a parts car that has two quarter windows with ok exterior trim on it, but still are chipping away around the edge near and on the lower corner on the sharp bend towards the rear. It seems like every car or window I find has old crappy dried out rubber trim that is all hard and chipping around the edge. The car is getting painted real soon and I would give just about anything for that flaw to be rid of before I start laying paint down around the window. And not having to worry about removing four quarter windows to only use two with the best trim would be wonderful. All that for two quarter windows with dried out nasty trim on my new (that took forever to get up cash for to begins with) paint. Please help, the side view of my dream zc powered crx would thank you way lots, you don't have a clue really how so. Also thisis my first crx build. I also have a 06 subaru sti with a body kit bigger turbo ecu ect, but that build was really half done for me from the factory. Really though, just bolt crap on and plug this in and bam I got crazy power for huge piles of money. This build I have a crx Si obtained by a trade that's in good shape, then bought another that was crashed a little for600$. It had a full wings west kit a new interior, nice rims and tires, perfect hood fenders doors bumpers headers stainless exhaust high flow cat ice man intake kit nology wires an auto tranny (why?) And high flow fuel pump oh yeah and a zc dohc engine with new paint on the exterior the same color as my other Si. Which is the car that will get all the new parts and get new fresh paint. Of course though the rear side quarter windows have old as dirt looking trim. Crappy crap crap. Aaaghhh
