Default 'Acura' Integra Type R USDM conversion in Japan

Although rare, there are USDM freaks in Japan...This front end is not off of a JDM spec 94 Si-R, but a true USDM ITR...So for those who have a USDM front end taking up garage space...there may be some hope yet:

Oh, c'mon... he's missing the USDM header, seats and steering wheel amongst many other items.

BTW... can he see through his windshield w/ all those gauges in the way?

there a guy in the Uk who went to japan and sourced a JDM ITR and exported it back to the UK, its a 98 model and has the USDM/Si/Euro (round lights) front end, it didnt mention if he converted it to UK spec, or bought it that way, so i assumed that it may still be an option in japan to buy an ITR with round lights. BTW he has a JRSC AND HKS turbo + nitrous set up on his car!!!

Now thats first someone calling a KKK turbo crappy. To me if it's IHI or KKK turbines are always going to outlast anything else as no other two companies have won so many races here and overseas.

He's using Topfuel 3 mm headgasket, Topfuel exhaust manifold, Blitz type C waste gate, Topfuel big injector kit with PowerFC. Split Fire plug wires, Trust Racing # 8 plugs, Trust race blow off valve, fuel pump from JZA80, HKS thermostate and what looks like apex S13 intercooler and piping.

Bingo...I think you are right. an Si-R or SiR-G...No dealer would be in their right mind to put in a factory sunroof on an R... But he does have all the Type R goodies + Top Fuel stuff too...I should ask him what it really is...

I like the sleeper look!

Thankfully the owner doesn't have to worry about USDM ITR car thieves!

Actually, I think it is a real ITR converted to USDM and with a sunroof cut, for a number of reasons:

When the Integra was facelifted (end of 95?) not only was it facelifted in Japan but also in the rest of the world. Although ROTW kept the 4 rounds headlights, the nose was extended to meet the front edge of the bumper. (I think so anyway!)

Also, the doors don't have the thin black strips. I'm quite sure only Type Rs had smooth flush side doors/rear panels. Anyway, this is my speculation since I've got nothing better to do

Ofcourse everything can be replaced from something else e.g. it could be a real ITR converted to non-JDM or an SiR with the front bumper and doors, panels all replaced. Ahhh, the beauty of Hondas....

Also, he's riding on 15" CTR wheels down from 16" ITR wheels??

In the name of weight saving on his Top Fuel turbocharged beast??

Hehehe... probably to offset the weight of the sunroof

Friend in the UK said local importer or J spec ITR's said he's seen some ITR's with Sunroofs but said they where added later. Though the new DC5 ITR can be had with one as one of Lux. features. So I would figure they could since the new DC5 ITR is slow anyways so sunroof couldn't hurt it much worse.

he shoulda put on the usdm spec bumper support too, to make his car extra strong. Or maybe that weighs too much for him.
