bad injector leading to clogged egr?
ever since i bought my 98 lude last year it has had a leaky injector, or at least i think so. when i let my car sit for a while (like overnight or at work) the car has a hard time starting up. and it also takes the starter longer, like the fuel pump is building up all the lost pressure in the fuel lines. my theory is one of my injectors is leaking and causing one of the cylinders to flood. so thats problem #1.
and now my egr has been coming on about once every month. if my injector is leaking/faulty it should be causing one of my clinders to run rich and create a lot of carbon in the egr. i have cleaned it out 3 times in the last 2 months. this is problem #2
so my question is: how can i tell what cylinder is running rich? or which one has the faulty injector. i think as soon as i can ix the injector i can fix the egr problem and get rid of that damn egr CEL!!!!! thanks for any help.

Well take one spark plug out at a time, and if one looks dark, than that's the one that is funning rich, if they're all a grayish color, than you're not running rich. If you had a leak in one in your injectors you'll hear it, and the rpms might go up and down.

thats a good point, the engine pulls all the way up to 8000 rpms (stock tach) just fine. but maybe the leak is so slight that it wouldn't cause any noticable problems with revs. but like i said the car has a hard time when it starts and the fuel pump takes longer to get the psi up when the car has been sitting for a while. anyone else have any input? where would i go to get my injectors looked at? i know schucks sells remanufactured ones for like $50 a piece. anywhere that could do it for cheaper? i don't neccessarily need new ones, i just need a part or two replaced or rebuilt.
