ok, im lost, i have replaced the clutch, flywheel, and the actually transmission along with the energy suspension shifter stabilizer busings, and I still have alot of play in my shifter and putting it into 2nd or reverse is difficult at times. I dont think it could be the transmission because it feels exactly the way the old one did and i dont think i would get another tranny with the same problem. So what else could I be missing that could be wrong. After installing the bushing kit it took out some of the play but i can still move it almost an inch left or right when its in any gear.

I think that your problem is the same as mine, its in the shift linkage. Get someone to sit in your car with it in gear and wiggle the shiffter back and forth while you look under the car at the shift linkage. You will probably see that the problem is in univesal joint at the tranny end of the linkage. I drilded out the pin that goes through the middle of the universal, cleaned and geased all the parts then rebilt it with a bolt, washes and double nut. You need to double nut it so that you can tighten it the right amount and not have it come loose. This helped me a lot but I'm still not saticfied. I am thinking of replacing the factory bushings in the universal joint with some ball bearings eliminate all the slop.
