i saw theres also a real silvia for sale on ebay.. that was used in the new 2 fast movie still being made.. but the winner gets to go to the movie prescreening in orange county, and will have to "show" the car at a few appearances.. nice car though. from what ive heard itll be easier to get a car like the silvia registered than the jdm R cause they never made silvias out here.

 

its gonna be easiest to import a car that's already sold in your country, yesterday Ive seen another jdm type-r from NY plated,registered,insured and street legal! go find it on ebay

my friend is set on importing a jdm crx... from what he read, its a lot easier importing a car that was not available in the US.. silvia, 120, skyline, etc.. compared to importing a car thats already available..

 

I dunnot about US but I think in canada its a bit différent ?

That is false. It is the opposite! It is hard to import anything let alone a car that never came to the US.

 

yeah.. its easier to import/register to canada than the US..

 

If you try to import a car not sold in the USA, you have to go through crash testing and other safety tests, to prove it is in compliance with Federal and State Laws.

 

Thats also a terrible example of an R.......it didn't get the care it deserved

yeah, that interior is pretty gross, look at the driver side seat...hell, when i bought my 91 accord (back in 2003) the interior looked 10x better than that car, which is barely turning 10..

 

One question about that. Say you wanted to import a Skyline to the U.S. Since many people have leagalized them and registered them before wouldnt the crash test already been taken care of? Anybody have any insight on that.

 

no.. i dont think there is a crash test on each car.

think about it... theyre going to crash your car to make sure its crash safe??
