Climbing Idle Problem
Okay so i recently got a chipped ecu, the car idled good but was throwing a MAP sensor code. I was driving it around and it ran a little rough but was driveable. All of a sudden my idle got to 3k rpms, later on as i drove it got to 4k rpms! I had to drive home as low as 4k rpms. I went to a local junkyard and got the map sensor. I am not throwing any CEL light codes but my idle is still 4k! I start the car and it immediately goes to 4 or oever. I replaced the throttle body and map sensor so far and didn't fix it. I disconnected one vaccum line that hooks to the intake and it idled lower but like crap. Anyone have an idea? Thanks

You may have a vacuum leak somewhere. I had the same problem a long time ago and its due to vacuum. Check all of your vacuum lines and any parts that have vacuum thats hooked up to it. Especially around the intake area. It sounds like you could also have something lose thats letting air into the manifold after the throttle body.
I recently did a head gasket and had to take off the intake manifold, could i have not tightened it enough back onto the head therefore letting air threw? Thanks, Jim
heres a doosy for you. I put the headgasket on and when i was installin a sensor, it shorted out my ecu so i ordered the chipped ecu. I started the car and it idled good but ran like crap. I got a CEL for the MAP senso. Replaced the sensor and it runs great but idles at over 4,000rpms. Thanks, Jim

Okay, i have changed out the throttle body (tps with it) iacv sensor and map sensor. I startefd my car and it idled low but reved up and down, i took it out for a dirve and afer gettin off the highway, i \hit the clutch and the idle went up to 6k and the brakes were hard, i could barley stop! I got home and shut it off, i started it up and it idled good for like 5 seconds then shot up to 6k again. Anyone have a idea? I plugged the wholes in my intake with my fingers before the 6k problem and it stopped my idle from bouncing. thanks, Jim
same thing happened to me. i would also like to know this. but more than likely it will prolly be a vacuum line. atleast that is what i have heard
