Default the new race ca R

not really......

#1051
it belonged to a friend of mine and i always wanted it but figured it would never happen. sure enough, i call one day while im in the market and he said he was just about to put it on ebay. i picked it up right away and now its with me being nursed back to health. the oxidized paint, dry rotting wheather stripping, and poorly maintenanced rebuilt motor all need tending to, but it was worth every penny. thanks all for the hospitality, and i look forward to meeting everyone at the expo!

the anxiety is no joke. its not too bad around here but i have already had some pretty nasty nightmares about it. not cool .

thanks all for the props.

raise your hand if you still have power steering and ABS on your R........ i have both but i havn't ever messed with the ABS system and its kind of intimidating. as far as power steering i love having it there but, you can't beat the feeling you get without it. looking into padawan's kit. does anyone use it?

Both of my ITR's have ABS, but no P/S.

Removing the P/S, gives you much better feedback through the steering wheel. I highly recommend it.

As far as ABS goes, if you only use the car for drag racing I would remove it. If you plan on doing track days in the future, leave it in. My ITR's ABS proved itself invaluable in the rain at Tsukuba yesterday.

This is all a lie until we see your pix of said event!

If it's more of a weekend car/occasional driver, I would remove the P/S but also keep the ABS....

its a daily driver. BUT i had no ps on my civic for 4 years so im used to it. i don't know, i think ill just remove it for the exblow. PS makes it seem so....twitchy, not stable, uncontrolled. i haven't even begun on the suspension which is a whole new bunch of stuff to mess with. i just don't feel as comfortable in the R as i did my civic. one would think otherwise but the R feels like its going "give" just going around big turns on the highway at a little above the speedlimit. im chalking it up to shitty tires and poor alignment. i guess i just expected more. i can tell it has MUCH more potential, but however he had this setup is really cramping its style. i do know that i LOVE havin an LSD though. theres alot to know about this car so im extremely anxious to get it up to gingerman and really learn what it has to offer.

Ok Reid, what's the story behind the new user text?

How was Tsukuba? After seeing that track so many times on Best Motoring, I'm envious.
