Stock ITR Tires
What was the stock tires on the 01 ITR? Also, was they good all around performance tires for winter, summer, and those rainy days?
Also, what tires are you rockin now? I need a good all around tire that isn't overpriced.

Stock tires for the ITR were 195/55-15 Bridgestone Potenza RE-010's.
They are summer/performance tires and definitely not an all-season design.
Different people have different preferences in tires, so your best bet is to do some searching and read some of the feedback from members regarding their various choices.

I think most Type-R owners run 2 sets of tires. Summer only, and then either an all-season or snow tire. Easiest way to do this is to just get a second set of wheels.
For summer it seems the two hot ones right now are the azenis and the hankooks.

It all depends on how much you are willing to trade performance for price/treadlife, and it depends on whether you need all-season tires so that you can use the same tires in winter conditions as the rest of the year (which will mean poorer performance the rest of the year).
My recommendations, in order of ascending performance and cost (all but the first are summer tires, not all-season):
All-season - Kumho Ecsta ASX 195/55-15 $65
Budget performance (good treadlife, good performance) - Kumho Ecsta SPT 195/55-15, Yokohama ES100 195/55-15, both around $60
"Value" top-of-the-line (good treadlife, better performance) - Toyo T1-R 195/55-15, Kumho Ecsta MX 205/50-15, both around $85
Premium top-of-the-line (good treadlife, even better performance) - Bridgestone RE010 195/55-15, Bridgestone S-03 205/50-15, both around $140
Specialty (very short treadlife, best street performance) - Falken Azenis RT-615 205/50-15, $78 (will only last about half as long as the other tires listed above)
There are other tires out there, but these are the best for the money in their respective categories IMHO.

FYI the RE010's are excellent tires. As a matter of fact I will most likely purchase a set when my stock wheels are cleaned up and repainted. But they ae definitely Only a Summer tire and NOT an All Season or all that great in the rain at less than between 70 and 50% tread depth.
Like others here I've been through the gamut of popular, & cheap performance tires for the R. But I gotta admit the RE010's were Very Good.
Others that I've run on the street:
Stock RE010's 2 sets on 2 different R's
Falken Azenis 215's 2 sets
Yokohama AVS 90's
Michelin Pilot Alpins
Kumho Ecsta MX's
Others that I've run on the track & autocross:
Hoosier A3S03's
Hoosier R3S03's
Kumho Ecsta V700
