im not really sure, but you would get a better response in the forced induction forum.

its much better to have a vtec head it flow much better than a non vetc head, and i don't think there is any interference.but try fi forum

Vtec motors have higher compression which is harder and more $$ to tune.

They do flow better but like I said, More compression = Harder to tune

you could do a ls vtec or get low compression pistons for the b16
try this https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1492596

better flow isnt always the best.

the reason why people say that they wont work well together is because it is harder to tune a vtec engine with boost. they have to tune the overlap out, but other than that the react great to boost

My friend's S2k has a JRSC on it, and when Vtec kicks in it's nutz.

mmmm stupid myths... vtec motors love boost. boost just does not like lots of overlap wich stock cams do not have...

You do have to notch the vtec rockers in order for them not to interfere with the inducer on the compressor wheel. good luck

edit:spelling owns me

look at turbos as a whole as how much Hp. psi differ between turbo sizes...meaning different hp on similar psi.

most b-series engine are good for about 300whp....many have made more reliably. the engine is only as good as the tune

the strength of the engine is not gauged by the amount of psi it can take...its the amount of power it can put out. again i will say 15 psi on a t25 is different from 15psi on a t3...get my point??

another thing they mean when they talk about "vtecs" not being good for turbo aps, is probably because of the high compression pistons those motors have. Its not the vtec, unless they really are talking about the tuning, and the overlap in it.

the reason people say they kinda battle each other is because your already in boost by the time your'e in VTEC but its still working and makng power,i think the B16 has the best sounding VTEC, and its sounds so much better when its spooling, high compression is an issue, and you cant run but soo much boost on a stock motor, but with a good setup and tune that will accomidate to make up for not being able to run a crap load of boost.i'd say between 7-11 lbs depending on your whole setup and parts
