Default ....QUESTION ABOUT HAVING 2 RESONATORS......

serched but couldn't find anything...

setup
eg b18c1
stock exaust manifold
test pipe, 2 .25 piping (1 resonator )with magnaflow muffler

ran very nice

now
same setup
except i changed the b-pipe to hks with 2 resonator's jdm 4 into1 header with 2.5 collector and es oval muffler

seem's like it's running slower...
could having 2 resonator's on b-pipe be the problem ...????

or i there another set-up that would work better...
TIA

I'm betting the dual resonators is what's slowing you down.

Which resonators are you using? Generic + hks mid pipe and resonator?

its most likely is the resonators, but i wouldnt think you would be able to feel such a great difference

well if there are 2 built into that mid pipe, maybe you should sell it and get another one? because obviously it slowed you down and now your complaining about it ...

what i'm asking is ....what is the disadvanage-advanage of having 2 resonator's (hks is not cheap brand) they's in there for a reason ...but why 2 resonators...

even with es oval...it's pretty loud..

I don't think you will feel a difference switch between the two. I doubt it's the exhaust. Maybe you are just use to the car???

Slight possibility that the two resonators could end up at one point, resonating off the same frequency, which could affect noise, but the effect on exhaust gas pull would be negligable since this aint a F1 motor, its a street Legal civic.

changine the header and larger exhaust is messing up your a/f ratio. it you were to get it tuned it would make more power. that bigger exhaust pipe and header are also hurting your low end and thats probly what your noticing

If you get a good exhaust system (not like a 3" downpipe or something THAT huge) but better than stock, you'll increase HP a little. Its not "tuning" but reset the ECU anyway. Then your car will start, and itll "learn" that its more free flowing, and adjust itself a bit. Like when i put on my intake, had to reset the ECU so it would learn theres more air, so itd add more fuel to gimme the more power.

Having two resonators cant hurt the car, tho it may not be optimal.

Reset the ECU and get back to us. It may "feel" like less power, but might not. My car's brakes "feel" worse since I upgraded, but in reality they DO stop the car sooner.
