Rods "shot peened" How do I benifit from it?

Default Rods "shot peened" How do I benifit from it?

I am rebulding my motor... back to stock, replacing rings, rod bearings etc..
D16y8 head gasket on my d15b7.

One suggested I have my Rods "shot peened" WTF, does that mean, and what does it do?

Do YOU think I shouyld ahve it done?

Shot Peened is where they take a piece of metal and put it in a machine and have it blasted with different type of material to make it stronger. I would do it if it was an all motor car.

It will make the rods like new with a little more strength.
