buying a eg hatch with a ls swap with 70k on it but i guess tranny grinds sometimes going into 3rd so im assuimn im going to need a new tranny. i was told to bolt a gsr tranny cuz its better what do you think?

do it the gearing is better and it will make the ls motor a lil faster

no, you dont technically need a new tranny..just rebuild w/ a new synchro set..but if you have the chance to get a gsr trans

 

yea thats what iwas thinking. becasue scnchos are like 250. but id rather just thourgh a new tranny.

 

try changing tranny fluid to GM syncromesh. i had a grind on B16 + went away. On the other hand a GSR tranny would be good also if you have $.

 

Personally I'd go with a b16 trans for the closer gear ratio on an all motor application.
