Installed Ground wire kit and now my pass. lowbeam is out....why?
Well, like the title states, today I installed larger guage wires for the major grounds in my electrical system, I replaced the battery to body ground, the battery to transmission ground and the ground that runs from the body to the engine mount, with 4awg Oxygen free copper wire and high quality connectors...while doing this I removed my battery (optima red top) ran my new wires and re-connected everything. However my passenger side low beam isn't functioning, is this related to the electrical work I did? could I have simply damaged the bulb while I was installing/removing the battery? or is it just friday the 13th luck? I would really like some suggestions other than buying a new bulb right away...silverstars are kinda pricey...thanks for the help guys

look at the bulb, does it look broken?
if not check your fuse as posted above
make sure you didnt knock out the light harness

There's nothing that you could (normally) have done to effect the lamp, except damage the ground for that harness - or blow the fuse for that lamp cluster.
The bitch of it is the R/S headlamp bulbs are the %^$#& to get at; what with the overflow tank and the air cleaner box in the way.
If you think the labor of taking that bulb out and trying it on the L/Side is worth the $19.00 for the Silverstar, give it a try. At least you'll be able to eliminate (or confirm) the bulb as the problem.

depending on the year , if fuse is ok than the relay is ok,, fuses are downstream from relay,,,, get a test lite..there are 3 wires going to bulb connector , 1 is black ( ground ) the other 2 colors i do not recall but 1 is power for low beam 1 power for high beam,,
chk that you are getting power and ground properly,, if you do , you got a bad bulb,, if either power or ground is missing , there could be a wiring issue,,

well, I have I 99,coupe EX 4cyl. 5 spd. ,it has 2 seperate bulbs for each side, one for low beam, and one for high beam, does anyone know the relay/fuse locations for the headlights? I am assuming it is a rather large fuse under the hood, but I do not know if it is with all of the other fuses in the under hood fuse panel, or if it has a seperate location

P, You were right on with fuse locations, thanks for making the job easier, I checked the fuse, it didn't appear to be blown, I got my dmm and checked for contunity, the circuit was continous, the realy didn't show any obvious signs of damage, and when the lights turned on there was an audible click heard from the relay. The bulb still didn't work, so I switched the drivers side and pass. side bulb and it worked, so I drove to autozone and bought another silverstar and everything is working now, just a blub replacement, friday the 13th luck I guess.... Thanks for the help guys!

you also have to be carfull not to touch the lense of those siverstar bulbs...if they have fingerprints on them they will blow....I had that happen to me right after I left autozone.
