Ok if 5genlude will lose to RSX S will 4genvtec have a chance??
yeesh.. 16.1?? thats pretty sad. but yea, drivers race totally. a perfect rsx-s driver should be able to beat a perfect 'lude driver though...
ive seen some RSX type S run and they dont seem to hold up agaisnt some of the gsr out on the track or 4th gen ludes. but this is when they first came out and not been properly borken in. the ivtec is still something i need to explore more about.
i do not know if this will help or not but this is what i know, these three cars raced all friends of mine: ITR with intake and exhaust also the power stirring belt is cut off, a RSX type-S with an intake only, and a 4gen VTEC 'lude with I/H/E. In the end, the 4gen lude was two car lengths ahead of the ITR which was a car length ahead of the type-S. It goes to say that the driver makes up a large percentage of the race. The driver of the lude had his car longer than any of the others, so that as well as the mods played to his advantage. In defense of the RSX, I do not know how many miles the car had on it, so the iVTEC might not have been broken in.
there is a RSX w/ an intake that ran a 14.9 here in austin, but it was a very cold / dry night
my opinion, stock vs. stock
5th gen lude < RSX-S < 4th gen lude < ITR

a fourth gen Prelude runs like a 15.1s stock and 14.1s with I/H/E, but stock vs stock, that is right, the (1)ITR, (2)4th gen Lude, (3)RSX type-S, (4)5th gen Lude
i test drove a type s before i got my 4th gen...it was ok, but i would go with the prelude instead...unless i could get a type r
a RSX Type-S will definately beat a Prelude in a race if drivers have equal skill. And since 4th gen VTECs are faster than 5th gens, then 4th gens definately have a chance, but I think the RSX still is faster than a 4th gen VTEC.
Yeah, a 4th gen would have a chance with an RSX fo sho! I raced on on the freeway awhile back and beat it. I doubt it was all the way broken in though.
correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the RSX Type-S is even available in a 5-speed AUTOMATIC...meaning the slower ones people are seeing are more than likely an automatic model Type-S..

laughin2.2 is right...and how many really good drivers are there anyways? I ran a 15.4 w/CAI and stock 13k miles tires. Could of got 15.3 but the track was **** by ends day. While I still see RSX drive best 15.4-16.1 and the 4gen guys driving 15.3-16.1 w/the 15.3 from somebody w i/e.
For you people so worried about good drivers a buddy of mine drove a 14.9 in a stock base 2001 lude. So you GOOD drivers should be runnin high 14's.
Just practice your skillz and kick some a$$. Its nice to have other cars a close competition makes it more the fun while flyin down the track head to head. That's my opinion.

Type S rsx's do not come in automatic. Only the base model rsx does, so that would not explain the slow times.
