Ok i am now officially part of the club! But i got a question... the keyholes were filled in and i dont know how i'm gonna lock it!




what do i use to fix this??

oh and by the way.. its an 89 CRX Si, Clean title with 120k, lowered a little, chipped ECU, rebuilt engine and it pulls HARD!

i'll take some body pics tomorrow... too dark right now. Thats basically the only thing wrong with it.

 

did you ask the guy how that happened?

It looks like JB weld(?)

I wouldn't know how to get that off with out stripping the paint.
Maybe someone else does

 

some hater filled it in with some kind of putty.
should i just try to chissle it out?

ok i would try and slowly try and chip it away if it is just like puddy. u will have to buy some touch up paint cause will definitly scratch the **** out of it if u do. otherwise your could get a whole new handle and lock from a yard.

 

It looks like JB Weld to me too. I would say go to junk yard and pick up new hanldes/lo9ck units. Then get a locsmith to make you a key for the doors. If you dont like two keys then take the ignition and trunk off the same car at the junk yard. If you can get the locks out then try chiseling them you might be able to get that stuff off. Nice red tho i like it get us some more pics of your car

that aint ****** putty thats jb weld you should just shave the handles put in 88 civic sedan rear handles on it and put door lock actuators with a remote.

 

i chipped a little piece and its white inside.. jb weld?

 

damn man that sucks. ****** kids.
i wouldn't try scraping that ****, looks likes it messed up beyond repair. just go to some junkyard and get some new handles. it'll be a pain in the *** to swap if you're lazy like me. but hey, no used car is perfect.
if you got extra cash, i'd go for the keyless alarm and rear lock-less handles.

 

i'm gonna buy all new locks... i dont want keyless entry because my friend had that and he couldnt even get in his car when the silinoids broke and when his battery died.

 

I like the shaved door handle idea. Just get a good kit or else you will be locked out. over 40 lbs should do it fine. It would look sweet too!! Please tell us how you fix it when your done

you know what you do.. go to an audio store.. pay 200 bucks for keyless entry.. buy some 88-91 4-door rear door handles.. slap that **** on it... now you really got shaved handles.. it'll look good.. thats what i'm doing.. just wanted to spread the word....

 

have any pictures with those handles from the four door on a rex? i am interested in doing it, but i dont quite see it in my head yet....

yeah they should work but whats the point when it looks like you don't even have the keyholes anymore??? just buy some 4-door rear handles and modify

 

I just use my trunk key if my battery dies.
