if you got 2000 to spend. Scrap the VAFC. Get a better tuning program hondata, uberdata ETC...www.phearable.net is GREAT for ecu's and such. Also ditch the header you have and get an SMSP or an RMF.

Weight reduction would help a noticable amount in acceleration as well.

what is SMSP? and where can i get it? is it really worth the money to get another header? also is it really worth it to get a hondata right now. . .i mean there is not that much done to my car. if i just get a good tune on my vafc wont that be good enough?

If it was ME...I would take the first $100.00 and get my car properly tuned. Your probably wasting HP by not having your car tuned. After you get it running right...then look into something else.

And by tuned I mean actually take it to a dyno with people who know what they are doing. Make sure your not running to rich or lean...make sure your parts are working for you. I have seen plenty of cars that bolt on all the basic parts and throw down really low numbers because of the tune.

With a top-notch header, testpipe/hiflow cat, and exhaust system, you'll be able to reach 200whp with GOOD tuning from a standalone like Neptune or Hondata. The guys with VAFC and regular off-the shelf exhaust parts usually make ~180whp.

Pulleys will add very little, although the little bit of low-end power freed up may make the car nicer to drive.

If you want to jump over the 200whp hump, you have two options:

1) All-motor build
2) Forced induction

Cams and valvetrain will only get you ~15-20hp.
IMO, for the price of most cams/valvetrain setups, its just not a good value - very little hp per dollar. Only worth it if you're going to up your compression ratio and build the bottom end.

I know I've made some generalizations here for the sake of making things easy to type/discuss, but I'm sure I'll get some support on this.

i think i rember reading the RFM dose better on smaller then 2.0 and down engines.
and SMSP dose better on 2.0 and up.
but i could be wrong
but i personaly like SMSP better.
i like SMSP better because i just dont like the customer service at importpowerhouse
thats my $0.02

SMSP (in Virginia) or Hytech (in California) - they both have websites with contact info and I would suggest you call and talk with both designers/builders.

To put it very generally, Hytech will have a slightly better low-end and SMSP will have a slightly better top-end. Both run $1100-$1200. You'll need to match either one with a 2.5" hi-flow cat and a custom 2.5" exhaust. Probably wouldn't hurt to send your header to HPC to get a thermal coating too.

Then get Neptune installed and tuned and enjoy your 200whp
