Default D16 motor WTF?

Why do hondas throw rods? it kills me. I buy a half-assed built block for a buck. The guy sd it has new si head seals and rings, but he couldnt figure how to turn the crank. After having the crank machined w new bearings and torqued back to exact spec and new head gasket to hone the rust in the cylinder, i fire it up and it's knockin like a bitch. How or why the hell does this happen?

You bought a block that was half assed from someone that didn't know how to turn the crank, had it reassembled, and tried to clear the rust in the cylinders by running the motor? Maybe that's why it's fucked up.

You should have disassembled it and had it honed, and then reassembled it.

Did you put anything on the cylinder walls to lubricate it before you started cranking it over?

Did you crank it by hand or did you try to start it to get the rust out of the cylinders?
