Default transforming a $150 del sol into ...............

ok,... I bought this del sol about 2 weeks ago for $150 from a guy that lives near me. Id been asking him about the car for almost a year (if he would sell it) and finally one day a few weeks back he called me up and told me I could have it for $150. I was pretty excited because Ive always wanted a convertible and I love my Honda's so this was the perfect car for me........ well,.... come to find out He parked the car for a different reason than what he originally told me. He originally told me that the reason why he parked the car is because he pulled the valve cover off to get it painted and then had afamily emergency out of town (death I think) so he left the hood off the car as well as the valve cover for several days and rain got in the head. That was no big deal to me,.. clean out the head,... do an oil change and crank it up........wrong. The REAL reason why he parked it is that it quit running completely,... I tried to start it up after cleaning out the head and doing the oil change and it had no fire...... hmmmm,....... no problem,... dizzy,.... $50 later with the new dizzy on she is running great!(I say "great",... great as it could be with a d-15). So anyways,... the car needs some major help. It needs a completely new interior due to the fact that he painted it all black and blue.... the radiator support has to be welded back on,.... It needs a new hood,.. needs that ungodly wing taken off and most importantly a fresh coat of paint.

The reason why Im starting this thread is because Ive seena bunch of folks document their projects but Ive never had a camera to do it with. Now I do so here goes!!!!......JJ

Yeah, it looks kinda like that gasket in a tube stuff.

Can't wait to see how it turns out. New interior or are you just going to gut it? What plans do you have for the car? Swap?

LOL... actually for me not necessarily the case.. I can park my bikes in my back yard. back in 2002 I almost got myself a a nice jag to waste money and gas on... but my neighbors don’t give a ****. I live in a city and i've seen em reverse until they tap while parallel parking….. a nice car with awesome paint… wouldn’t last where live. I can’t have a nice auto until I buy another house with a garage (which im planning on… then another house… and another and another). So until then… ½ rusted honda’s and nice a$$ bikes!!! I ‘m aiming for a 06 r1 or zx12 for my bday in arpil!

plans are for a daily driver..... for now. Id like to say that Im gonna keep it stock but knowing me........ who knows. Ive got a eg ls vtec turbo that im driving right now.....just waisting the motor so I need something to drive and put miles on. Ive thought about just putting the LS VTEC in the del sol but Im not 100% sure yet. I work at a dealership with a paint/body shop so I will get the "low low" on that stuff. I hope I can get in touch with the guy that posted earlier about the del sol for $150,.. if thats the case,... I'll have this thing up & goin in no time!!

Wow... that's almost exactly how my hatch was when I first bought it!
Nasty two tone interior, huge-wing held on by silicone, smashed-up front end... everything. Cheers and good luck.

Thanks man. I will probably need something from you soon. That is,.. unless someone knows how to get in touch with westfire25. HE SAID EARLIER THAT HE KNOWS WHERE THERES A DEL (FRIggin caps) sol for sale for $150. If I could buy that, It would save me a ton of$$.

Has anybody ever dealt with or is familiar with WESTFIRE25? He posted earlier in this thread that he knew where there was another del sol for sale in north FL but Ive tried emailing and PMing him SEVERAL times with no response. Id really like to get in touch with him so I buy that car so I could at least get the interior parts and headlights off it. If anyone could help me get in contact with him it would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!
