Why did you buy your Accord?...Are you happy?
I bought my CB7 about 2 years ago. It was a huge mistake. I wanted a simple different clean style Honda after I sold my EH2. After I test drove it, it just felt so comfortable. Original owner traded it, just under 98k, AT, sedan, power everything...etc. It was a spotless car.
After I bought it....ahhhhhhh. No parts!....in comparison to the Civic and CRX I had preveriously owned. Aftermarket world support for the 4th Gen Accord was cut more than half it seemed. I still can't even find certain imitation parts that big name companies used to sell that no longer don't.
I still wish I hadn't bought it. It's a great car, just not as great as the Civic I originally fell in love with in the Honda world. I do love my car and it's was been perfect from day one for me.
So, why did you buy your Accord?...was it/is it still the perfect car for you?
I need to learn how to spell.

I bought my CB7 about 2 weeks ago from a nice old lady. 186k miles, 5 speed, mint interior, outside is decent.
so far i found/had to fix.
exhaust leak (ricey, sounds like **** not fixed yet)
jumpy idle (fixed)
oil in spark plug tubes (fixed)
half an air filter stuck in TB (fixed)
bad rear motor mount (not fixed)
alternator whine (not fixed)
bad tires/bent wheel/ out of balance (i dunno which, not fixed)
popping noise when taking off, applying brakes (not fixed)
opinion on car.
paint is ****, upon closer look the undercoat is cracking but the clear is nice and smooth.
tail lights have condensation in them like hell.
seats are uncomforable.
i hate how this thing shifts, real jerky (could be the rear mount causing it..i hope)
heavy *** car
steering wheel doesnt tilt low enough for me (i hate my driving hand to be higher than my chest)
antenna is broken.
heard enough yet?
to sum it up, i wish that stupid bitch didnt hit my civic, i liked it much better. if i had more than 2 days to find a car i woulda got another civic, but only getting 2900 for the civic and that limited time frame, this is what im stuck with.

Can't say much about the paint, that'll happen on any car. Take out your tail light fixture and seal the lens with a clear silicon(drain the water out first). The seats do suck once they're worn down. If its a manuel then you're the problem with the shifting, get better. And they give you larger displacement for the added weight(it is a sedan, not a racecar). And for the steering wheel not to go low enough you must be reallllyyyy small, or slouch too much. And the antenna can be bought at an auto parts store and replaced within 2 hours, new gasket included. All in all more of a comfortable SEDAN, than a compact commuter car. Its more for people who like going fast real quick.
I saw a pic of a 1997 Accord in super street when I was 16. Thought it looked 'hooked up' and I was going to put a shogun kit, chrome valve cover, 19" wheels and all the stupid **** a teenager thinks is cool.
Didn't have any money for that, but as it turns out leaving it completely stock was the best thing that I ever did to it (yeah yeah I did nothing and taking credit for it w/e). Still drive it today and runs well.
Note: 1997 Accord (red coupe) Special Edition.

It was from my parents. I wanted a 500 dollar 1980s volvo or a short bus (i found a short bus for sale and I wanted it desperately) but I got the hand me down mobile.
I hate the goddamned thing. I have spent too much money on it, the transmission has failed, its an automatic, 4 cyl, slow thing, and its got a lot of bad memories attached to it.
My parents would have saved money if my mom just saved her Del Sol for another 3 years until I was old enough to drive...but oh well...

i know how to fix tails and i know the paint is old.
i have never owned an automatic car, i learned to drive on a 5 speed and refuse to drive anything but, so i know perfectly well how to shift and im pretty good at it.
as far as the steering wheel.... yes im a fairly small person 5'11" 135 lbs. and i have scoliosis (sp) so i cant help slouching

I (my family) have been Honda owners since 1986. At this moment there are 7 Honda's (6 Accords, 1 Civic) running around the State of Rhode Island just from my family and I
The one's in my driveway (right now) are listed below. These are just between myself and my Wife.
IF I were pressed, I'd say the 3rd Generation Accords that we owned have been the most contentious; what with weekly Ball Joint and Bushing replacements. And now that the '88 is reaching the ripe old age of 18 (and crowding 300,000 miles, some of the normal crap is wearing out.
Since moving into 5th Gen's and later, we have had no issues whatsoever. Lof's and the occasional Brake Job. No Paint problems, no upholstery problems, everything works.
My observation? Most all problems related here are from prior owners' issues (one of the dangers of buying used)
Paint Cracked? It was prior re-painted, and it was applied too thick.
Paint Faded? Put a coat of ^&%$ Wax on it!
Timing belt Broke? The As...hole you bought it from lied his *** off when you bought it.
Engine seized? Maybe those "extended oil change intervals" were a little too long, Bunkie. It choked on it's own oil sludge.
Electrical issues? Congrats, either you've purchased a "FLOOD" titled car, or you're the victim of an Audio System Install which went terribly wrong
It's often not the car.
I'm very happy with the Honda's we've owned. Happy enough that I'm looking forward to a 6th Gen shortly.

I bought my 98 Sedan I4 in August of 2004 and couldn't be much happier. I bought the car with the hopes that it would be reliable and it has been nothing short of that. I hit 150,000 miles last week and the only money I've thrown at the car besides mods and scheduled upkeep was for an axle and brakes. As for finding parts...the car will never be a race car so bolt ons are all I'm gonna need. As long as it runs consistently and can be a little fun on the side, I'll give it
I got my 99 Accord a few months ago for dirt cheap from my uncle. I first fell in love the accord when I bought my first, which was a 95 coupe. I had to sell it because it started to poop out on me. I then acquired a 98 camry le, which I hated for the life of me. The thing had NO acceleration, and the suspension was so soft that it made most of my friends fall asleep on long journeys. It was like jello. I was so glad to finally get rid of it for the 99 accord. I love the styling of this generation, and it def. performs better than my camry. With only 26,xxx miles, its gonna last me a long itme.
accord ftw
accord ftw

Oddly enough I own 2 CB7's (paid $400 for a 90 sedan w/ near 300k). I actually like the seats better in that car. There really firm compared to my 92 sedan, and it has only 130k. No armrest though.

i bought my cb7 ooo about a year and a half ago and i got it for a grand its a 90 lx with about 130K when i got it and it had been stolen but i had it cheakd out and it was clean except for the tranny which i was going to replaced anyway with a better clutch the paint it fadded and it has some dents and no front speakers lol but all in all i love this thing and have spent alot of time workin on it in a good way /washing oil changed lil stuff like that
First car I ever owned was a 92 Accord LX. It was an automatic and I loved it. When it was hit from behind at a stop sign, insurance totaled it and with the money I bought a 92 Accord EX, that was manual. So yea, I think 4th gen accords are pretty damn good.
long.. sorry :S
1996 Accord Ex Sedan 5 Spd purchased in Nov 04'.. My first Import EVER.
I was to be married in Aug of 05 so my wife would need a car. We're JW's so witnessing to others is a major portion of our lives, so we needed a 4 door to carry around our friends.
I reasoned that if I'm gonna be makin a payment, it's gonna be on a 5 speed 4 door car w/leather (wasn't gonna make payments and not have leather
) and it was NOT going to be a domestic.
After much research and reading, the Accord was an obvious choice since it's such a wonderfully built car, good quality, longevity and they look awesome. Since I wanted it to have a lil power, I opted for the EX 5 Spd.
I had decided on a 5th gen because it was in my price range. Found a sweet EX that had a new paintjob for $5300.00. Snapped it up and have been happy ever since.
Problems:
- Replaced passenger side hub assembly.
- Annoying lil leak that goes to the passenger side back seat when it rains.
- Power mirrors stopped working, looked into it and have no clue why.
- Cig lighter was junk when I got it, fixed now.
- Driver/passenger side windows don't like rolling up, replaced motors and it's gotten worse.
- One CEL light- Emissions control ports clogged - fixed it right away.
- Wants to run hot when sitting for a few mins (think radiator is just too gummed up)
- Door locks were getting bad (clicking turned to grinding) just unhooked the fuse.
Thats pretty much it. A few lil things but aside from the Hub and the radiator, nothing very serious. She's got 141,XXX on it now and I consistantly get 32+ city/highway combined.
And I like imports so much now, I'm selling my 5.0 Mustang and buyin an Integra, hopefully by next month

i was given a 2000 Accord DX by my parents, and i know the DX is at the bottom of the chain but i love my car. i realize that its not meant to be some super-fast race car but an economy car. i absolutelly love my 6th gen. ive gone from memphis to miami in this thing, ive never had a problem with the auto tranny, and i still figure out how to haul *** in this thing. there is just enough stuff out there to make accords fun to drive around town. so overall, i couldnt be happier with my car, the thing is strong as hell (suburban rear ended me, its front end was badly damaged and alls i had was a cracked tail light). to anyone who asks me, i would recommend an accord in a heartbeat, its just a great car.
To Start of i first had a 1989 Caddy Sevile when i was 16 that shyt kept breaking down smelling burn and Chugging gas 4.5 lt V8 still kept it but then bought a Geo Storm Hatch 1992 with 111k When i was like 17 and i had it for like 4 months and sold it because it was too small for me.
THen a friend of mine was selling her 1994 accord because she bought a 2004 accord lol
So i bought the car i was still 17 123k miles for $2000 not bad. It had an AEM C A I, Magna Flow Exhaust and lighting and everything Neuspeed lowering springs and taillights the only thing i ever had to do to the car was
New ac belt
Brakes and oil the normal maintance
She changed the Timming belt at 100k miles
and i also had to change the clutch (mind you all my cars were auto)
the clutch was fine when i got it except i learned to drive on it , my sister, her bf, my gf. so the clutch took alot of punishment.
i made the mistake of putting a duralast clutch on it and
you know how that goes....
i decided to make mods on it since i was in that stage with the body kits and stuff fender too bad they were all fiberglass you can check out my car domain below
any ways to sum it up i think Honda Accords have excelent life time on it or Hondas in general Never was i left stranded and i can always rely on the car to take me anywhere
the one thing im not happy about is the gas milage i usually do like 60mph so maybe thats why i burn alot of gas and again i am now 19 and still own the car and its the best one ever! lol
i would get an acura but since it was american inspired on still on the other side of the fence with that (honda<3) i know its made by honda but still and also i like the car because it is a very easy engine to work with and

definately bought it NOT to go fast, just to look good and get me to school and back but i ended up running nitrous on it for about 2 yrs, blew up the auto tranny, converted it to manual, and now soon turboing it. turboed accords are a rare breed compared to civics and tegs.
what kind of parts are you looking for that you cant find?
what kind of parts are you looking for that you cant find?
well i started out with the 1991 accord ex sedan at the ripe age of 16 (2002) - the car was my mom's secondary car. after graduating high school ranked 14th out of 800 seniors and an acceptance letter to UGA, my parents decided that i needed a new car since my sister would be taking the 91 accord to drive. at first, all i wanted was a used 2002 acura rsx, but then my parents didn't like the idea of buying a used car, so we decided on a 2006 civic sedan. unfortunately, my dad didn't like how it was underpowered, so we went with the 2006 accord ex sedan v6, which had both luxury and performance. we bought it in october 2005 when it came out.
the only thing i regret is that the car is HUGE, and the front headlights aren't exactly my favorite. i probably would have gotten a 2006 TSX if i knew my parents were to shell out $28k for an 06 accord rather than 17k for a 02 rsx. i'm thankful for my new car though and hopefully it will give me about 10 years of good service. i've made frequent trips from athens to atlanta, and the ride has been really good to me.

I bought my CM8 a few weeks ago, only have about 2500 miles on it.
This is only the second Accord. The only other one I've owned was a 1994 LX five speed, which car is still going strong as an H4 competitor, about 300,000 miles on the motor, never gone into, and still winning races.
I'm happy with the CM8 so far. I bought it because I could not see enough difference between a 2006 Accord V6-6 coupe and a 2006 Acura TL for the Acura to be worth the extra money.

I bought a 92 Accord back in 91 when they first came out. The more I drove it, the better it felt to me. Everything stayed together (didn't fall apart like the domestic cars I had before). In those 12 years I didn't spend $1000 on repairs (my father has spent more than that on his Chevy Malibu in only 3 years). It never failed to get me where I wanted to go. I became very confident that I could hop in that sucker and go anywhere I wanted to go, with no worries. I finally sold it. Why did I sell such a great car, you might ask. Because I wanted a new one, with a V6, that's why. I still hated the sight of it driving away for the last time. I still miss that car, and if I didn't need to have a truck (to haul stuff around) I would have two Accords. Hopefully, my 03 Accord will make me forget about the old one. It may take a while. As far as I'm concerned, if it doesn't have a big H on it, I don't want it. Looking forward to the day when I can get rid of the Chevy truck I have now, and get a Ridgeline. I am a true Honda lover, as you may have noticed. I laugh at my father every time he has to take that POS Malibu to the shop for repairs. I told him not to buy that thing, but he wanted to buy "American". He paid cash for the Malibu, but I tell him he's still paying for it, because it's always breaking down. Happy Hondaing.
i boguht my cd5 (96 4dr) and i was alright with it i guess. 119k miles 5 speed 4dr dx. this was a year ago wen i was 17. so far ive done a comeplete championship white paint job, shaved everything besides handles, ksprot coilovers, prothane motor mount inserts, red 16 inch gt3s, and BFGoodrich tires, im really happy with my car, im hvaing more fun with it than with my itnegra.
Bought my 94 Accord LX because I have 2 kids and need a good sized 4 dr, unfortunatley for the poor thing I have this little problem leaving things alone, it has since gone through 1 stock F22, with a cam, and prelude trans, and is now being fitted for an H23 no VTEC. I really like my accord, nice sized car, looks good, moves well for being a 4000 pound tank. definetly nice to have in the garage next to my 88 CRX SI.
My Accord is a hand-me-down, though the car is in fact mine, and i have more than payed for it. theres some big issues...namely a bad motor mount and a ratteling A pipe...at times they really bother me, but i truly love the car...its been in the family since day 1, and ive grown up with it
my 5th gen accord was bought for me a little earlier than i got my liscense, paid 5 g's for it w/ 80k miles..
i like the body of the 5th gen accords and as far as cutting half of performance parts, thats because civics are more commonly known as ricer cars, but i can still look through a catelogue at autozone of performance parts from AEM, INJEN, PILOT and alot more and see the 4cyl 94-97 Accord..
this car has never had a single problem, nothing failing or having to be replaced because of failure, engine bay is clean enough to eat off of as well as the under carriage, car runs like new at 130k
