Default Anyone have a 2006 6-speed?

My wife and I are seriously looking at a 6-speed sedan, and I wondered if there was any feedback from those who already have one of the 6-speed cars.

Praises? Complaints? Recommendations?

drove one, damn mean power for what it is. nice power through all the rpm range, smooth shifts, very nice inside, crazy nice ride, handles quite decent for a large FWD car. I highly suggest it.

I have a Graphite Pearl w/Navi on order. I liked the one I drove a lot. Mine should be here this week sometime. The only thing I don't like is that the OEM tires are crap according to the reviews at tirerack.com. I have a new set of Yokohama V4S's waiting at the tire joint down the street from the dealership. anyone want a set of MXH4's cheap, lol?

i believe he was being sarcastic, i drove those tires for 12k miles on my 04 accord and felt petrified of the wet traction and cornering. My mother's Land Rover cornered better than it lol

I took delivery Dec 21. V6-6 Coupe. What struck me the most was how very close it was to the Acura TL...too close for me to think the TL's sticker was reasonable.

Price was $26,000 out the door, including tax, title, tags, everything, and even some kind of appearance package that seemed to include splash guards, wheel locks, the hard trunk liner and package net. You're not supposed to get the package net and the hard trunk liner together, but it's working out OK. The trunk liner is flexible enough.

Found an HFP spoiler for not too much money and added that, too.

Don't refuse to try out the XM Radio out of hand. There are actually quite a few useful stations and I will probably go ahead and subscribe to it when the three months of free service are up. The six speed coupe comes with a 180 watt system, stronger than other Hondas. Not sure why.

The gearbox is a surprisingly close ratio. All the parts numbers are different for 2006. They addressed some kind of gearbox weakness quite seriously, to the point that almost all part numbers are different when comparing them to the 2005 transmission.

The motor's extremely strong. Its 245 HP rating is deceiving because Honda elected to use the stricter SAE standards ahead of other manufacturers. You can make the VSA work in any gear at almost any speed.

At 60 the car's doing about 2200 RPM. The last time I checked mileage it was 29.7 miles per gallon, a best so far. Other tanks have been in the 26-28 mpg range. You can also let sixth gear go all the way down to 1500 RPM w/out bogging the motor. Using preimium fuel and staying on premium fuel will let you take six gear really pretty low, and according to some well regarded Honda people you will get another five horses or so if you stay on premium. However, only one tank of regular will cause the computer to immediately recalibrate and you'll have to go several tanks again before the computer changes the mixture and spark advance to take advantage.

Interior's very nicely done, and if you haven't looked at Accords recently you might find some surprising features. Heated seats and heated mirrors, for example. Not sure why the coupe has perforated leather while the sedan has solid.

Maintenance is monitored by the computer based on the revs/mi you drive and other factors. There's no specific mileage-oriented schedule.

Only good news so far, surprises and no regrets.

If you have any specific questions, just let me know.
