Default Clarification.

well let me start with the basics.

i have a 1991 honda DX. you know. the one without the right side mirror.

------------------------ turbo

anyways. a deal came about where i am buying a garret T3 turbo for a very low cost.

I will need to fabricate my own plumbing, buy gaskets, buy exhaust, get manifold, injectors, and an ECU.

i was hoping for some reccomendations for injectors and ecu.

hopefull something not to expensive

---------------transmission

the stock four speed in this car will simply not do.

i have a 5 speed from an 92 dx sedan, but i dont know if it will fit.

anyone know?

------------------------- Body work

does anyone have any expirience with bondo?

how hard is it to use?

i have alot of typical side panal rust to bust out and fix.

-------------------- over all

i want to take this car, and restore it to stock looks.

new paint job, clean moulding etc.

is there a place where i can get new old stock lights or even replica pieces.

i dont want any clear corners or tails or anything.

----------------------

well thanks to anyone who takes the time to answer my questions.

i really want to make a nice looking fast car, and i have alot of questions.

if this sort of thing is frowned upon on honda- tech, forgive me, im just a young kid trying to customize my car the right way. and i could use some help.

thank you

nolan

the only help i can give is the transmission..and it's not good news..the 92+ civic trans are hydros and the 91- are cable..they will bolt on the same way but for it to work u'll have to find some way to fab in a hydro system for ur clutch..i say get a 90-91 si or dx trans that's is 5 speed

You dont have a DX model,,you have a STD model(4spd,no mirror,vinyl seats,etc)
converting to hydro just to run a 92 dx tranny is worthless..Just get a cable 5 spd dx tranny or a si tranny..
Please dont use bondo in place of metal..The correct thing to do is cut out the rusted metal and weld in new patch panels..If its just suface rust then you can use some bondo but if there are holes in the metal dont use bondo please..

As far as the ecu I recommend turboedit(xenocron.com) chipped 90-91 pm6 or pr4,,And injectors ,you may or may not need them depending on what your hp goals are..

okay well scrap the tranny idea.

i actually meant, by using bondo that it would be for the smaller things.

but in those gaping rust holes behind my rear wheel, i will have to weld in some more metal i guess.

i guess ill just have to figure out the turbo things as i go

thanks
